What you said about being overwhelmed on stage, Suga actually did break down in tears towards the end of his very last concert in Seoul. I think it was a mixture the outpouring of love from the audience, the stories behind the the songs, the fact that the fans connected so deeply with what he created, the overall history of pain and sacrifice to make it to that moment and that it was the last time he would be able to perform before entering the military (not knowing if fans would still be waiting for him when he is able to return,... Which of course we will!!). I remember watching it live, crying with him, emotions overflowing for all of us. 💜

2018 was the heaviest for them because of the huge jump in popularity worldwide. The reality of being performers and the responsibility and expectations were really affecting them. They were exhausted and discussed disbanding. JHope mentioned the pressure every time they hit the stage to be perfect and never make mistakes. Suga hid in a bathroom at the first Japanese concert because of his anxiety. After the show, he went on the stage and looked around. He told himself he could never let the group down again. These were young men in their early 20's trying to navigate such attention. RM's album you've been listening to is all wrapped around his feeling of living his life for his persona. Not knowing where RM begins and Nam Joon ends was suffocating to him. He had to follow the orders of BigHit even though he and the group disagreed. V said he asked their manager if they could please have just one day off from working. The answer was no. They had been doing practices, product endorsements, photo shoots, modeling, traveling, rehearsals, and concerts. Always something. JHope was on a plane and was rubbing his legs saying how much they hurt. V had to perform the same day his grandmother passed. He was heartbroken but had to go on stage and do the job. Jimin could not control his emotions in Wembly when ARMY sang Forever to them as a surprise. The guys were so touched and actually looked like they let their guard down and breathed for a few minutes. I am an old ARMY. There is a hidden track called Sea. Please listen.

Hi there my dear, as I'm reading your reply I started crying because me too I've witnessed these things happen in front of me and many more!! I grow up with them and since Im from the same generation it pains my heart that they had to go through all of that at such a young age but at the same time it comforts me the best way because my life wasn't the easy one either and I'm sure millions of ARMY out there can relate!!! and I believe that's the reason our love for bangtan just grow every day and we become more and more protective of them and just pray for their mental health more than anything else!!! so I just wanna say thank you for staying thank you for being an ARMY all these years and I love you I love all armys who truly love and support bts💜💜

42:26 When you're saying that the audience doesn't necessarily think about all of the things that could go wrong in a performance while the artist is trying to give their best performance, I think, with ARMYs, it's different. The guys give us all the behind the scenes of their concerts and performances and they don't leave out the injuries or the extreme fatigue or any of it. We see both the nearly flawless performance and what went into that performance. They give us both the facade and the human behind the facade. I think that is one of the many reasons we love them so much. They are always truthful with us and we can relate to them as real people. It was actually a bit strange at first trying to differentiate between the stage persona and the real people, but then both are actually just different aspects of the guys. Both are genuine for BTS. Anywho.... That's my ramble for the day.😂 Thanks for the reaction.

35:43 I'm only halfway through this video but had to stop just to comment. When you spoke on how the energy and impact people learning and singing your lyrics would move you to weep I can't agree more. It's huge and seemingly unbearable. I've seen several concerts of BTS and they really do weep on stage. It's amazing that they don't weep every concert😆 They sold out Wembley Stadium in London and cried hearing their thousands of fans singing their song 'Young Forever'. Such a beautiful moment which when standing in that moment, having the realisation that these fans of mostly non-koreans singing your korean lyrics to you, wow! That is a huge and overwhelming wave of love, admiration and recognition that's graciously received and released as tears streaming down their beautiful faces🫶🙌

They’re worth getting to know and it gives their music so many more layers. I love this interview. RM was sooooo nervous but he still bravely sat with his hero and did so well.

Omg hearing him mention the 4 shows in Vegas and being absolutely hype makes me so happy! I was at Day 3 and it was one of the best days of my life and I'll never forget it. I flew from Florida to Vegas the morning of the show, walked around all day exploring while I waited to go to the stadium, then went to the concert and an absolute blast that could not have gone any better, and then went straight to the airport from the stadium and waited for my flight home that same night. It was expensive, it was exhausting, and you bet your ass I'd do it over again as many times as I could if it meant being able to see and support them live! Not one...single...regret 💜

You hit the nail on the head. BTS doesn't make music just to get an award or be #1 on the chart. The one thing that was asked of the BTS members when the group was form is to write music that was from the heart, true, and sincere to them and their experiences. I believe this is what makes BTS so special. To many artists, especially in the west, they make music to be number one or to get awards.

It was amazing to see Namjoon get the chance to chat with one of his idols. They actually did have a collab track - in one of the BTS docuseries, Namjoon mentions it and the sound of it. However, that was a couple of years ago, so it may have been scrapped. Would love to see you watch the Mini and Moni album exchange where Jimin listens to RPWP. Even though this interview was great, it’s always nice seeing Namjoon speaking more freely in his native language and with a friend . While we haven’t gotten too much behind the scenes content yet fromRPWP (I think there’s something bigger in the works 👀👀) it was really nice hearing him talk a bit about the influences and process of making the album. Hope you can watch it! Thank you for appreciating his work and for listening to it multiples times and not just for the camera.

Can’t believe this is your first time ever hearing him speak! This was such a great conversation. I think they both took a lot from it. Mot interviewers just ask repetitive, surface-level questions, so it was also cool for long-time fans to see him talk about real, deeper topics in an interview context. Timeline wise, this was before he put out indigo, so he hadn’t started on RPWP yet. But I can definitely see him draw inspiration from this for that album. (It makes me think of groin “not a fucking diplomat”) I highly highly recommend both minimoni music album exchange videos! The first one is RM talking to Jimin about RPWP, and the second is Jimin talking to RM about Muse.

I think the line from ATWIAD that you've been rolling around in your brain is right before he says "we ain't look so pitiful" and it's "We are lost" - how ironic. And now I'm going to laugh every time I hear it. Thanks! I think it became very apparent in the 2 years before enlistment that NamJoon was frustrated by being pulled in so many directions and having to meet so many people's expectations beyond music. I'm hoping that when he comes back the time away will have been like a reset for him. Pharrell does have BTS on a track; he said it's amazing, but to date it hasn't been released. It's not on Phriends Vol.1. I Hope it's on a Vol. 2 one of these days. He must be busy with LV!

As someone whose second language is also English, I relate to RM so much during this whole thing! I can literally see wheels turning inside his head because he had so much to say in front of one of his biggest idols, and it’s so hard to do that in the language that’s not your native, so I always admire RM for being able to do stuff like this. When RM speaks in Korean, he always finds a way to connect things and he often speaks in metaphors, and also rarely speaks in simple terms. His brain sometimes works so fast that his mouth can barely catch up and armys always joke how he raps even when he talks! Anyways, you can tell his mind was working so fast and he had so many thoughts that he couldn’t really express them exactly as he wanted, but still, you can feel his sincerity through it all and that’s what matters. I don’t think anyone can really understand the responsibility he had when BTS first came to America… As the only member who speaks English, everything relied on him on how the band was going to be received by the media and general public. He spoke about how one of the reasons why they had to take a break was because it was getting too much for him. With all the things BTS had to deal with, it’s understandable… I can only imagine the pressure. RM is usually very humble and always talks about how important it is to stay “human” before anything else. No matter where he is in his career, he always reflects on himself and tries to stay grounded. He is very intelligent and it’s always interesting hearing him speak about music, especially in Korean! But anyways I’m really glad that that you reacted to this, not everyone would choose this interview as a youtube reaction video which only proves how genuine you are in all you do💜 Thank you! It’s always fun and interesting to hear your thoughts!

I watched this interview when it was first published and enjoyed it deeply. I love your comments about your own process of writing, producing and performing. I am inspired to explore that process with my own work. RM has released so much more of his own music since this interview. He has grown in his ability to explore different genres and different vocal ways of using his voice. He just released the collaboration with Megan. It is wonderful to feel the loosening up, the freedom, comfort, and manly confidence he is expressing in his rap. He is blending with her voice and matching the wild, beautiful strength and prime sexual power of Megan. My favorite part of watching each of the BTS members do their individual projects is to revel in how much they continue to grow in expressing themselves, and in doing that, finding the colors that also express what I am feeling as a fan and fellow human.

I watched this interview when it released and again just last week on another channel but watching it again with you is amazing! Still picking up new gems! I love hearing your insights on different points made throughout this great interview. - I believe RWPW is RM's recalibration. - He's not a diplomat like he says more colourfully in 'Groin'😆 But it's true! He's here for the music and came for the music, don't try to make him something he didn't sign up to be. The interview really is great! Two phenomenal artists with genuine admiration and respect for each other. I really hope they work together and bless the world with their joint artistry. Please, if you get a chance, react to 'SEXY NUKIM' by BALMING TIGER ft. RM It was released around the same time as this interview. It was such a great prelude to RM's album RWPW as it introduced fans to this Alternative sound which is showcased throughout the album. He did also have the album 'Indigo' which came out before RWPW but I would also class that as a prelude to RWPW (my opinion anyway). Both albums are great but my fav is RWPW. One of the guys from 'Balming Tiger' worked on the album with RM. Gameboy, have you ever seen the collab RM did with Wale? Also he has a track with Anderson .Paak which I really like. What they were talking about was the essence of transformation that happens on a transpersonal level when through circumstance, intention, and larger forces, one or a few individuals can connect with many more. I think that one can stay simple, and direct, and think of it as no more than connecting with just one other person. Then the energy will rise up and carry you way forward, and the necessary energy will fill and lift you, but it really is about staying within your own skin and breath. That is my theory, anyhow. Good conversation, thanks so much.

And about how nervous and the responsibility of them with their fans I can tell you there’s not a moment that they are not thinking about their fans, they abdicated a lot about their personal life’s because of that, cause in western musicians can have a personal but on Korea that would be impossible, so it’s not that they don’t have one, but you can tell that when it was time to choose, they choose BTS 100% of the times. Plus a little 🤏 about Korea. Also behind the scenes footage, personalities, etc. It's so good. I think you might really enjoy it.

This interview was so good!! Btw I stumbled across your RM reaction videos recently and I love them!! I’m impressed with how detailed you are, paying attention to the lyrics, picking up on the backing tracks, interpreting the meaning…Also you’re just all around good vibes. Are you currently producing music by chance??

That phrase you mentioned means "We are lost" you pronounce it better than I do though RM's just shy of 6 foot so quite tall by Korean standards.

Maybe you could watch the 2022 Festa dinner (on Bangtan tv), when they announced their "hiatus". It gives a nice insight in their process and their personalities. They eat and have a drink and talk about light stuff, but also heavy stuff.

RM was so nervous here hahshs if you watch more interviews with BTS, RM is the one who speaks the most and is usually smoother, Zach Sang interviews with bts are a pretty good if you would ever want to watch them!

Shoot... not just they that the words impacted someone to the point that they learned it, stood in line, went to the concert and sang it... your words impacted someone to the point that thinking them or knowing those words saved your life. fr. And at the very least... got people through some tough times. I've heard it, read it, discussed it countless time in my journey with ARMY and the boys have too. Has to be so much. They've all said it feels like an out of body experience when they start their shows and soon as they see army they get energy from them and it carries them through. But yeah... some of those songs... it really is not surprising Yoongi's final performance. I know you probably won't go to Weverse and buy that... you have to buy the digital code that gets mailed to you then you can watch that final concert. Some of the performances are on YT from others (I think it started at the end of Life Goes On really... and the crowd chanting the BTS member chant... then goes into snooze 😢, Dear My Friend... 😭then Amygdala...😫 but yeah... it was the culmination of the end of his tour, about to be in the ARMY for a year and a half... your parents there, BTS there (some on leave from the service and others about to join along with him), his juniors, his seniors, and ARMY... and those specific songs... OMG!!! ARMY having to sing them for him. I'm so thankful he felt safe enough to let it out. Like a purge of all the pent up emotions and then walking through that frelling Amygdala door... it was all just as emotional for the fans as it was for him. Like serious bonding. And that's why its apobangpo. I can see why Pharrell would step back by that sense of overwhelming emotion, but not stepping back and just being in the journey with us is why BTS is BTS and there aren't others like them. And with technical difficulties... lol... behind the scenes on their Vegas tour (I think it was... could have been LA) they were geared up ready to go and one of the screens (which has been working moments before) suddenly quit... they were literally in the cage about to start. How unnerving would that be!? They just handle all the insanity that comes their way with such coolness. Think it took about half an hour to fix. 🙁 With RM he started so young and was the leader at such a young age but has always been so brilliant and the only one who could have done it. He said it was during the pandemic when their English songs were done more "out of house" which was unusual for them, when he said it felt like he didn't have a grasp on what they stood for or where they were headed any more. He really needed to get these albums out that were projects he personally did and could express just what he wanted without the pressure of having them be BTS and worrying what if they weren't what BTS wanted to represent. I love that they've done their own stuff but cannot wait for them to be together again. RM is the best at keeping himself (and the team) grounded. Like he mentioned in Taylor's Guide... I think that 5% is crazy but is a real tool he uses to keep everything from feeling overwhelming. PLEASE PLEASE watch Taylor's Guide! 🙏😕🙏 Just know, JK was only 13 (not 15) when he joined BTS and he was only 15 when they debuted. He says 15 in the video because Korean used a different age scale than international up until last year. Sorry for the long reply, but... long video kind of merits the long reply. You remain top notch. Always enjoy your take and response. Thanks for sharing. 💜

Thank you for you reflection. This interview is fully worthy of attention. I have been listening and watching your comment sine J-hope's "On the street" , but from today I will starting subscribe to your channel (my only one subscription on this topic). The part of the conversation aubout performing in front audience and RM's statment really hit me. I thought of BTS concert in Busan - the last one before enlistng boys in the military servis. The concert I'm talking avout left me speechlees, it exceeded what can be understood by the senses and mind. They played as if their last concert in life. It would be an honor for me to experience it again with you...Maybe this dream will come...(if you read this massage). Greeting from Europe🤗

I love your deep reactions; & the natural rhymes/alliteration you use in your stream-of-consciousness talk! (I don't know of you notice, but your poet/musician brain shines through! I was at PTD LA/LV & DDay Oakland, can confirm the overwhelming energy in the stadiums! It's emotional for fans, too! Ex, Cypher 4--to have an entire stadium screaming "I love myself! I know myself!" is chill-inducing! They all say being in person w/ ARMY is their ultimate love! 💜 I agree w/ watching Suchwita, & seeing his convos w/ different artists & actors. The episodes w/ the other members are enlightening! 💜

What you just said about them being just exceptionally talented humans. About expectations from the public of them being flawless and perfect. That's what people, fans, media dont understand or don't care to understand. Because of those nonsense expectations Suga is being unfairly attacked!! I think these pressures were the reason why RM spoke his mind in RPWP . Love that he gifted us with the most amazing album ever. Thanks for the reaction.

It may have just been in the written interview but RM says "what if I don't like music anymore" and Pharrell told him that feeling would be temporary. I feel like RM was really worried about being burned out forever That's why I said on your Sexy Nukim review that Balming Tiger collab changed his life. He was supposed to enlist with Hobi but pushed it back because he got inspired to create RPWP after working with them.

i feel like, we can agree on the fact that joonie and the other members should always speak and represent no one but themselves, and feel free to not fit an agenda like the UN or their visit to the White House, as well as other commitments they’ve had in the past in South Korea, but that also, they’re not in the position they’re in with such a vast fandom if it they didn’t show a strong stance on certain political/societal issues in their country. They did that on their free will at the cost of being judged, and that was a move that for me is a game changer, something that can’t be excluded from their essence as artists and humans. Today, more than ever, they should be allowed freedom to be humans that mess up and learn and grow but also to never loose the expectations they themselves created by being different, critical and very human, that is, we cannot pretend that when things get political within the fandom or their company, they should step up and speak out.

I so appreciate the depth and respect you have for the music and the artists. I know others have recommended it, but I think you would really enjoy the MiniMoniMusic where RM and Jimin sat down to talk about Right Place Wrong Person. It's so interesting to hear RM talk about why he created that album, his thoughts on the songs, and where he is in his musical journey. There is a second episode where Jimin and RM talk about Jimin's album as well. The interviews were both filmed right before they enlisted.

I'm an army from Brazil and every time I see the section where he talks about the shows and how there are people who make a lot of effort just to see him, so he wants to give the best for us, I get emotional because for us, and I imagine that for many people from In countries like mine, it's very difficult to have the presence of our idols, especially if you're Korean because it's exactly on the other side of the world, 12 hours apart and damn, all we dream about is seeing them singing in person one day and it's very meaningful to hear that He knows how much this matters to us.
