My theory is that these are all different events that occurred to him in various timelines of his life: he was a child to his parents, a friend in a group out partying, a boyfriend in a turbulent relationship, and then a husband with a beautiful family. Throughout, he felt like he never fit perfectly into any of these roles. In his journey of self-discovery, he encounters another human, Kim Minha, who is as lost as he is in the maze of societal roles and expectations. However, after they have a conversation on the couch, he realizes that it's not just him; this is the reality for most people, and life is never going to feel perfect. Cut to him being transported to these scenarios again, but now he is happy because knowing he is not alone in the journey makes him appreciate life and its imperfections more. In the end, it feels almost like an enlightenment where he is freed from the shackles of pursuing a perfect life and now understands the true meaning of living. You see him walking through the forbidden door with Kim Minha, both now happy and content.

The lyrics are so brilliant. Real Genius. Just using divine and pain in the same sentence is Genius. It is extracted from a philosophical theory that Humans lives ocscillate between pain and boredom. It's safe to say that almost nobody in the idol world is even experiencing what the members of BTS are going through, because idols were never meant to have staying power. Idol music, idol groups, idols themselves were designed to be consumed, disposed, and replaced with new ones. A very small handful of idols have careers that last this long. It's likely the members expected to transition into roles of husband/father/private citizen with private lives and regular friends, and DID NOT anticipate how they are actually living. To me the video is depicting the feeling of disorientation that must come to them as they discover that these "normal" life tracks do not feel right anymore, do not feel attainable. How would that feel? I cannot even imagine. Then he meets a fellow traveler, Kim Min-ha (who was also plucked from obscurity and rocketed to global stardom literally overnight). They comfort each other, realize they can still live any way they want. Then the scenes replay with RM feeling like he can belong in these places. And finally he and Min-ha go back into the maze of scenes together, a little nervous, but ready to find their own right place.

I love that even after all these years I never know what to expect from the BTS members. Their genre's and concepts are just all over the damn place in the best possible way. Like I know it's normal in k-pop to have a new concept every comeback, but with BTS it feels like it's not just a change of concept for the sake of the comeback itself because it inherently contains so much of each members personalities and ideas. Even when their MV's are simple, they're always so interesting xD

My interpretation is that this is RM's multiverse. I remember him referring in Festa that there are different RMs who could have been an office worker but he is lucky to be the RM of BTS. H e can be a party goer RM, a father RM, a baby RM or a kid RM hiding behind the plant The last one shows that his right place and the right time is opening the door with that lady .... maybe represents Army because he trusts herr? At least that is what I hope it meant. 💜

Everything about Come Back to Me is so good familia!! The song, the lyrics and the MV?? So Cinematographic! 💜 THEORY: My interpretation of this MV is that he was in the right place but was the wrong person bc he was like trying to live in the world's expectations. He felt like an outsider and couldn't imagine happiness in those sceneries. Then when he saw that girl who was just as confused and desperate he decided to find her and at the end it shows that the girl was himself. He realizes now to listen to his inner self to keep lone and understand himself if he wants to remain burden-free and happy even in those situations. Maybe he wasn't the wrong person, he's right that's why he can finally go out of that door. Now that he found himself, he can be free of worries. He's the right person and there is the wrong place. Another constant theme is his change of clothes. He is always back to same comfy modern hanbok kinda dress when he's with the girl/himself. Also, something that I found really interesting is that Namjoon in front of that door is seeing her in red, blue and green. And that reminds of the lyrics of his song Closer! "I see you in red, blue, green". 👀

To me, these are events that could happen to him or anyone as life, as the old saying goes - when one door closes, another one opens! So like these doors he is choosing to walk through in this "maze" - life is a maze everyone and Army, including him, walk through and "suffer" or not the consequences! Maybe, the last woman is Army - the only one constant person/people that he walks through life.

One theory says it might be inspired by NAMJOON’s most mentioned book “ the midnight library” i recommend you guys reading it, it’s about being able to access “ what if’s” of life through “doors” of a“ library”. One thing to remember is when it’s Namjoon’s solo song will almost always be inspired by things he mentions multiple times in either interviews or lives so Army pieced it together as something to do with the multi-universe referencing how many times he seemed to mention that idea even in their last festa dinner.

the serene girl represents himself. he couldn't open the door in the first part because he hadn't found himself. so when he met himself (who's confidence, calm, and determined) in the girl, he could finally open the door. also notice, before they opened the door, the light on her face changed (red, blue, green light - these are also mentioned in Closer lyric). To describe this song and mv in one word for me would be Reflection. His reflection of his persona, past, present, and future. Still seeking and trying to find the Real Me, but in the end, that becomes less important because he realizes and is learning to accept what matters more in the self discovery, is the journey and who you travel with, in that journey. In this mv, I believe he is showing that he is going to trust both his inner self and ARMY, both represented by the girl at the end, to travel the maze of life and self discovery which I thought the set represented. Meaning, he was always at the right place in his journey but was looking for and seeking the wrong person to define himself or he was being the wrong person by looking at the wrong picture of himself. Like always, there are so many layers to his song and concept. As usual, BTS has a way of stimulating our brains beyond the rhythms. I thank them for all the flowerworks of brain sparks they ignited to my aging brain from dying.😄 Borahae Familia!💜

The interpretation that I gave to the video is that at first Namjoon was empty and was looking for something that would make him feel alive again, that's why on several occasions he looked at the door with the desire to see what was beyond, but at the same time he was scared to open the door. I think what the door represents is that Namjoon entered a new chapter in his life, maybe creating a family with the person he loves? Because at first he didn't seem to like the idea of a family and that's why he ran, at some point he even tried to open it but he couldn't because it was the wrong person, just like the title says; but when he found this other girl he started to enjoy life again and we can see that now he visualizes himself with a family and that's the reason why he decides to open the door, because he found the right person.

Here's my two cents about the MV. The sets are somewhat what Namjoon was thinking about during hiatus. Since y'know, you go on to introspection when you're on a break. And this girl he met who he walked out with, is the representation of armys, armys always there coming back to bts, and yeah i think the door symbols the year 2025. When namjoon met the gurl, he first saw himself before the gurl right? What i interpreted from that is how armys will remind him as RM, since he's Namjoon currently inside those sets. And the part when Namjoon talking to that gurl, hence, armys, about how his thoughts he had during the hiatus, how he was a child, how he was a dad, a lover, and armys are there to listen to him about it and having fun thinking about the opposite of what namjoon thought like, "yeah, i think u would make a great dad/lover/person, namjoon, you've always been." At the end, armys are there coming back for RM&Namjoon, to open the door. And you know about how bts and armys are symbolized as a door due to their logos. So, yep, armys coming back for RM & Namjoon outside the hiatus. And oh, the line, "You are my pain, divine, divine". We all know how being an idol/artist, has taken a toll on their respective lives, how they have missed such events that people are going through in their daily life, like having a family, forming a relationship with a romantic lover, going out with friends freely, and being a child who's always there for their parents, they weren't able to do so much due to their career. Yet. YET. Despite the pain... Of coming back to the scene of spotlight, despite how army's demands can be such a pain, the constant need to perform, Namjoon&RM thought, we're all worth it, hence, divine.

Theory: The MV reminds me of the summary of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I saw somewhere that Namjoon has read this book, so maybe there's something there. I haven't read the novel yet, though, so I can't be sure. Either way, the song is perfect. It reminds me of the vibes from Mono, so soothing and relaxing 💜
