As an older fan, after hearing the solo debuts we have so far, I think we all need to be so very grateful and thankful to these 7 individuals, and we also should be grateful and thankful that they were self aware enough to know that they needed to do this. And that, as far as we know, none of them have resorted to addiction or erratic behaviors to deal with the conflicted feelings they have had. My heart hurts so much for them, but at the same time I'm so happy they can use their music to help themselves heal, and that they can share all of this with us. So far, I've cried at everything and I don't see that changing with the other members' debuts!!! It's gonna be a very emotional year, but it's such a beautiful pain!!!

When BTS had that get together and talked about them taking a little break RM shed some tears and got emotional. If you really stop and think about thier lives and the time many years that they have put into getting where they are today is A LOT. The ups, the downs the good and the bad and of course putting a normal life on hold "FOR 10 YEARS" that is more than most people could even think of doing. The emotions they have gone through in a decade has to be completely overwhelming. I really love this song and the more I listen to it and the words the more I like it. It kind of feels like the tears he shed for us to see at that time months back are being reincarnated into this song "Wild Flower" for us to hear once again. What a gift though to be able to put your feelings into words and make a song out of them that can reach so many other people. Fantastic Namjoon!!

The one thing that has always impressed me most about BTS has always been their courage...they have often bravely put themselves in situations where they were uncomfortable or emotionally vulnerable and it has had such an impact on their fans. This is what it means to be a true artist. More importantly, to be true to yourself. RM wasn't focusing on creating a mainstream song. Like RM said, "it wasn't for hype or noise in the first place". A 4-minute and 33-second Korean-oriented song. A beautiful 4-minute and 33-second Korean song. Every time I hear this I get chills. I get teary-eyed. Seeing both Namjoon and RM in this video puts so much in perspective. Whichever version of him exist he is surrounded by purple...love...ARMY. He's to be admired because he gives his all. I have so many big feelings watching this. Where to start? Well, lets start at the beginning. Did you notice that the POV was ABOVE the fireworks, above the clouds? It sets the 'duality' tone right out the gate. I read in his Variety interview that the play on words 'Flowerwork' was meant to be the title of the song but he changed it to 'Wild Flower' to be more easily digestible. He went on to explain that a firework is beautiful and powerful but the bloom only lasts a moment. Urging the listener to find beauty in small, lasting flower blooms as well. Again, his duality. As a new fan, a western fan I can't help to feel a strange responsibility in what maybe become the career tipping point for BTS and NJ. In 'Yet to Come' they talk all about how it was hard for them to fathom being called 'the best' and have mentioned how it is remarkable global fans know all their Korean songs. They were set on a course to become the best in Kpop but who was helping them navigate this brand new world stage? There has never been a BTS, so how do you reach out when you are alone in your level of career success and fame? Hollywood, the rappers, and groups the celebrities all suddenly admiring you . The Grammy's and Billboards, our western music market is for a certain seductive and it must feel incredible to be included in the upper percent of the artist but the duality again is with that comes so much hate not just for their style of music, hate because of where they are from and who they are. How do you process this all in your twenties? This is much more than just imposter syndrome or identity crisis which we all go through while becoming an adult. We love to love them and care for them and respond with positive support to everything they do but I have to think, are we caught in this duality too? Are we as Army the flower field or the storm? I just want these amazing young men to be happy and be present and enjoy the success they worked so hard for. I hope they find love and life and understand that even when they feel alone, their bond as seven brought them through this because how much harder must it be ( Michael Jackson, Madonna) if they were just one?

Namjoon said himself that he was in a state of confuse about what he really wants to do, as his love from art getting bigger and bigger, he was confuse if he loves art more than he loves music, and that's what scares him. because music is his world, and that's the first thing he really wanted to do when he finally learnt about life. He asked pharrell about it and pharrell reassured him that it was completely normal and the feeling was temporary. And I believe now Namjoon has found a way to balance himself between music and art, without neglecting either. Just like the clip towards the end of this MV where he sang on the stage and in nature was showing back to back.

Namjoon...this was beautifully raw. The juxtaposition of purple ARMY bombs, glitz, encased in a stadium, with the petals of the purple wildflowers in a vast field of openness where he is just with himself...and really, that is all he needs to be. Nothing more, nothing less. Breathe and connect/return to the light that he is. Rather than fireworks that fizzle quickly, he remains like the scent of petals that linger and touch our core. Natural, raw, organic vs. synthetic and fleeting. I thank him for having the courage to share himself so vulnerably with us. 🍃💫💜💫🍃 And the intentional choice to have YouJeen's voice solidify the frequency of this song...I feel it deeply. 🙇‍♀️

I feel like this is Namjoon saying I need some time to be Namjoon. He has been struggling with the balance between RM and Namjoon more than he realized. Maybe he felt like with his level of fame he shouldn't complain. I was balling my eyes out. Maybe we all asked for too much. I pray he finds his balance. And yunjeen was the perfect addition. The angst in her voice mimicked the pain in Namjoon's lyrics. What a masterpiece!

It is so painful to see Namjoon hurting so much. For him to bare his heartaches for all to see takes immense inner strength yet he must feel quite vulnerable at the same time. I am sad that perhaps some of the weight and pressure may have come from A.R.M.Y's expectations as well as from the burden that Namjoon and BTS feel that they must never ever disappoint their fans. So they feel they cannot stop and just be free of all the expectations, the pressure of "breaking charts, views, winning awards". Namjoon is asking "Can I please stop now? I don't want to reach the top again or keep working at being number 1" (lyrics: "I don't want to go to the stars, I can't") It is so very lonely up there. I feel his heartfelt plea as follows: "Can't I please just love music, rap and poetry the way I used to when I was 9 years old? Please let me be that Kim Namjoon. I just want to lay my weary head on this field of wildflowers for a little while. I promise I will come back. Just let me go for now and find peace. Please?"

Watching the MV brought to mind RM's conversation with Pharrell where he was honest about the burden of speaking at the UN and White House and how he stopped himself from saying he was tired. Ugh the feels watching this MV. Side note I feel bad that the line "flower, flowerwork" kept reminding me of Jungkook on BV4 holding up the flower to the camera and saying flower numerous times lol. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking song but you feel Namjoon's strength in his voice and lyrics. I've listened to his album on repeat all day.

Nobody gets universally felt anguish, growing pains and turmoil of life humanity needs to face and live with as greatly as works of BTS. I am left speechless once again and I am also humbled with gratitude that I am a fan of such a special artist (s). This song is my fave on his Indigo album, as Seoul was on Mono, and every time I read his lyrics of Wild Flower they make me ugly cry. Gosh.... What a gift he is to us. I find Flower has so much in common with Suga´s Shadow - how they open up on their internal introspective process, how honest they are about it, how they unveil darker side of artistic success and fame that comes with it, how they ponder over it, question everything, how they speak about their fears and growth as human beings, how they still value the basics like personal integrity, beginnings they come from and necessary grounding ( touching the grass). All so intricate, so well crafted and so relatable. Namjoon voice is incredible and I am so in love how he sounds on this album. He looks stunning too, all in white, in a flowy shirt and simple cardigan but visually more endearing than all dolled out versions of him from the past. This song is a full tenner for me, easily. GREAT!

I cried hard when I heard this song and loved and hated it all at the same time. RM was (is?) in such searing pain but he stayed in this for Army. They were supposed to end as BTS after the big MOTS7 tour but Covid happened and it was all about being there as BTS to support the world. Covid damaged many including RM. We all knew he was unhappy. Just watch his Vegas V Live again. But he couldn't and hasn't left. He is still here but with Chapter 2 can have and deserves his own time and music. All we did was love you RM and I deeply regret the pain you felt in pursuit of your love for Army, which never wavered. The system didn't energize you. The system exhausted you. Indigo is brilliant and reminds us just how amazing you are. You have saved many - so in those wee hours when you feel like you don't know anymore, know this real fact. I "really" like the song and the part with Youjeen has a feeling of breaking free, sailing. I'm not too sure how to feel. Sad that RM has had to face this pain. But life is mostly about challenges no matter who you are. As an Older ARMY, I've had my share of difficult times. Quite a long time ago, my husband of 23 years died. I suddenly had to be both a mom & a dad while trying to figure who I was. You just keep walking. I've had to reinvent my life many times. It can be done! Even if you are overwhelmed with fear. Presently, another family member is quite ill, and I work very hard at staying in the moment. Music helps me do this. (My family member keeps telling me they hear an old German love song playing in the distance. I don't know what that means, but it's the power of music.) Thank you Jose!

Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly." It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.

This reminds me of Save Me because he is going through tough struggles and finding his own way to empowerment. RM always uses Jungian themes such as Shadow, Integration of embracing darkness to find your Wholeness in the Light, Becoming the Independent Self. He is the master of wordplay and duality, archetypes and Unconscious. Anyone see repeated things from their previous MVs or songs? Mad respect to u bro i dont know how u kept it together. tears literally bursted out of eyes yesterday and without knowing i was shaking like crazy and there were goosebumps all over my body. It really took me a few minutes to calm myself entirely because i was shaking soo much but my heart felt a lot lighter. I swear i needed that happy crying. And literally not only wild flower the whole album had me stunned for it amazing and deep meaning. I understood completely the presence of the Collaborating artists after listening to the song. They all made the song. And while mono listened to our tears, Indigo gave a meaning to the life. And now there is no looking back

Namjoon is such an amazing poet, lyricist, and artist. He, and all of the guys, have sacrificed much of their 20's to achieve this worldwide success. Is that a bad bargain that he regrets at times? Perhaps, but as Jin remarked once, when you gain some things, you also lose some as well. In one sense, the military enlistment may set them free from K-pop expectations and international pressures, and allow them to be more of themselves going forward. If music like this is the result, it will truly be the best that is coming. Also, when Youjeen sings, it sounds like a cry of pain and frustration to me. Cathartic.

I had so many emotions seeing this. I feel that he was feeling chained down and held back from who he truly is and so sad to now like a blooming flower opening in the spring (made new) to be who he really is. So much pain can be felt. Every time I listen to this song, it digs just a little deeper. Beautiful lyrics &, of course, the BTS high quality video loaded with symbolism, and RM's deep, soothing, soulful voice. Contrast that with Youjeen's powerful, almost primal wail, just breaks my heart a little more every time. That voice that's screaming inside you that you have to contain... I'm about to cry just thinking about it! I hate the overuse of the word masterpiece, but I think it applies to Wildflower. So proud of NamJoon & wish him the best. I hope he finds what he's looking for 🙏💜

I can't help crying or tearing up when I watch the MV and listen to this song, it's just so beautiful and hit me so hard. I bet I'm going to get that emotional with every member even if they do happy songs bc I know they have to go for a while and because I'm so proud of them.. 😭😭 I am so proud of Namjoon! Indigo is an incredible album. The album was just released but it has already made me feel so many things and heal. Namjoon is my favorite artist for a reason. I appreciate the fact he's so honest with us. Not all can do that and exposing his inner himself and putting out in the world those raw lyrics is just so brave. I always find myself in some way reflected in his music and his songs give me comfort and motivation. It's like if someone is sitting next to me, listening and telling me that everything will be fine, that one day we will make it. Kim Namjoon is an incredible artist and I can't be more proud of him, I'm so proud of everything he has achieved as a celebrity and as a person. He deserves all the love and support! It's incredible how every single song is so f good on its own and even if they are different, I see them as a whole. That's why it's hard for me to choose a favorite one.. that's what happens when you release a real good album. Namjoon's lyricism always blow my mind. I cried the first time I watched it, and have cried every time since. It's still hard to listen to without tearing up and feeling my heart ache for him. He's so open, raw and real... the lyrics sting and comfort at the same time. Realizing how hard it has been for him. I hope with Indigo, Joon is happier.
