Im pinning this to the top here, ive noticed alot of you are having bogging and no power issues, id take a look at your crank seals and replace them, theyre easy enough to do (easier than this) and cheap. If they are bad or dislodged they will cause air to leak into your crank case and it will run VERY poor. I do them on every new bike I get (used new)

T.S.O.L you have a different year/ generation of bike, I’d suggest buying a manual as I’d be helping you blind (I’ve never even seen a 07 top end or bike up close) manuals are around $50, smart investment for the time being and future repairs, also it will show you what the manufacturer recommends for preventative maintenance

I have a 98, paid 550$ for it. Then had the bright idea to take it into a shop and told then to fix everything. I seriously wish someone would have stopped me. 1100$ later with new 1st and 5th gear shift forks, swing arm bearings brand new carb which had to be jetted with the fatest jets available or it just died out."it was a nightmare btw" took two carbs to get it right. they sold me a knockoff or something at first that just would not work then ordered the kehin which finally didn't bog or overheat in 3secs. I could have bought an 04 or something for 1650$ but at least I know what I have. not w it has no spark just ordered the stator but forgot the flywheel puller fml I swear. but for some reason they told me my piston was almost new and didn't put the kit on it it's been braapd about ten hours since rebuild so I believe it's best to put new top end on it but I don't know which size to buy..125s are 54mm but my head says 54.5mm what size should I order?

. So i just rebuilt my yz. And when i checked the compression the compression was at 105 psi which was the same exact compression it was before i rebuilt it. I used all oem parts like piston,seals etc... And the hone marks are still there. Why is the compression so low. Also yamaha book says that after rebuilding the compression should be between 155-160.
@Twostrokealec8 жыл бұрын
It should be higher, you did something wrong man idk what, but all I can say is send the cylinder to a machinist and have him tell you what he needs to do. And what you need to do. Compression should be that high. Are you sure you didn't miss something? Nothing is left in the gasket kit right?
@RidingWithNick1258 жыл бұрын
+Twostrokealec so the first rebuild i put a wiseco piston and seals in compression after the first rebuild was 100 which was the same before. So then i bought all oem stuff for the top end. I put that in and it went up 5 so 105. Could the reed valves have any thing to do with it? And what did the compression on your yz and rm read?
@Twostrokealec8 жыл бұрын
+RidingWithNick 125 like I said get your cylinder honed even without a break in it will actually be higher and nothing else has anything to do with it besides crank seals. Both my bikes read 150 that is a good amount

YzNick did you break in the bike? Right after we rebuilt my brothers old Cr125 and it was at 110 psi. After breaking in the bike, it was at 150 psi. The rings have to seat in order for it to be at the most compression.
