Great content!! When you put the cam back in the bearings, is there a little up and down movement, I have 1 to 2 thou of play(small amount). Do I need new bearings, or a cam? I have no scoring. I'm trying to find a source of engine ticking. Thanks

I just got my head machined did I need to get new shims? And why?

Machining a head can make the valves sit in a different position, so new shims may be required to achieve the required valve clearance.
