Just an FYI, the Canadian Reserves are extremely well prepared. Almost all our gear is better than the Reservist gear in the States. The Lee-Enfield is an extremely good rifle is great in extremely cold conditions and it's easy to maintain.

I think what should be posted are views of appreciation for these volunteer troops as opposed to bitch fests! An amazing example of how people in very remote areas aid their communities and country at the same time, by the "services" they provide be it the eyes & ears of the CF in the north, to Search and Rescue emergencies and TEACHING others how to survive in Arctic conditions. Thanks Rangers for all that you do!

The concept of the Rangers is good. The actual number of them is far too low. They need to be increased in number by a huge amount. All most every man and woman living up there needs to be a member and paid well. No alcohol or drugs and be in average physical condition and your in . Then trained and given jobs like tending to some heavy artilleries post . They need more then basic rifles to do the job . Nearly silent snowmobiles and a great many machines designed for that area of the world . Russia has got the northern equipment done pat now so Canada really needs to up the game

@jeeholim0824 Well, from what I've learned in a "Military History of the World" class at Ottawa U, is that the regiments who attacked the White House were mainly composed of canadian militias, under the command of the French-Canadian general Charles-Michel d'Irumberry.

Lee Enfield. Is the current issue chambered in .303 or 7.62 Nato?
@Diannalover
@Diannalover 9 жыл бұрын
According to Wikipedia, it's the .303, though they're apparently phasing out the older rifles these days for ones that use 7.62. Of course, Canadian military procurement has always sucked, so who knows if they've actually got them yet.

Also your miltary ain't doing so hot anymore, sure, you got the technology and the money, but the superiority ends there, here's the other leaders in terms of military capabilities: TRAINING- UK, Canada MANPOWER: Russia, North & South Korea, China, India TANK/ARTILLERY/etc. QUALITY: Germany SPECIAL FORCES QUALITY: UK-SAS, CANADA-JTF2, RUSSIA-SPETZNAZ. SNIPERS: UK, CANADA. However, these are all the countries that either match the US or are superior, in most terms the are superior.

@FluXez00 The natives were here the longest then the french were next. The french set up colonies on the east coast (Acadians) and lived in peace with the natives until the British came. Once the Brits settled in they massacred the french and sent them back to Europe... We all know what they did to the natives.

You do realize that York is like, literally a 5 minute distance away from America right, while Washington is much further away. Plus, no "you" didn't burn down several parliament buildings. They were filled with gunpowder and lit, killing a gross majority of the Americans even if we lost the parliament buildings. Our complete sacking of Buffalo would be the equivalent to the razing of York.

If you have a problem with Canadian's why watch Rick Mercer? There's view's, opinion's and things I don't like and generally I just don't watch them. Since 1812 both our countries have both bled for many of the same causes. Maybe people should focus on that as it's those causes that allow us the freedom to sit and bitch on youtube.

Also, you exploit resources when you need them, not because you can, and our disarmament was in no way involved with the US, it was our own descision, encouraged by our great former PM Pierre Trudeau, who held the long-enduring belief that Canada is a peace-keeping nation, also you should see the terrible abuses your military is committing over there in Afganistan! I could list close to a hundred, but you can search them
