I've always had a keen interest in politics, but I'd much rather be Governor General then Prime Minister. Personally I'd never want to be PM, far too much criticism in that job. GG, less criticism, more influence & a much better (bigger) house to live in lol.

The Queen and Governor General are not just figure heads the play an important constitutional role. The Queen or Governor General do not have to listen to the Prime Minister when they advise the Monarch because the crown has reserve powers which they can use when they want but they are mostly used in Constitutional Crisis

Not really the PM is the servant of the people he should act as such thus he must live in a a humble looking house and the governor general is the vice head of the state and command in chief in HER MAJESTY,S absence . so he lives in a place which is fit for his position .

I agree with you somewhat: That modern art (at least not that much of it) doesn't belong in Rideau Hall. However, having modern art on the walls doesn't make the entire "building" (it's more of a house than a building) dull. I've been there, and it's beautiful.
