What a great horse Rick was on. Obviously loved what it was doing and knew what it was doing. If you find a horse that can do that with a Green rider on their back, you are golden.

If a cow is tagged, why does it need to be branded? Seems like unnecessary cruelty to the animal to me

Tags can come out brands stay.

Tags are all different and are made to tell what specific animal it is for the rancher so they can keep vaccination records and other records on the animal. brands are to see who owns the animal and are generally all the same on a ranch they are more to protect against theft
