I left Liverpool on Oct 16th 1957 with my Mom, Dad and bros. Landed in Montreal. I am 77 now and I cried when I viewed this vid. Thanks for posting a wonderful vid of the historic Lady.

My family emigrated to Canada from the UK on this ship in September of 1965, I was a 12 year old and it was an adventure! After arriving in Montreal we then had a 4 day train journey across Canada to B.C. it was a far different country then but after almost 60 years I still love it!

Our family emigrated from England to Canada on the Carinthia in 1957. My dad won a little silver cup, engraved with "RMS Carinthia" in a table tennis contest. I still have it.

My parents emigrated to Canada on this ship in 1957. Unfortunately my mother got homesick & much to my father's disappointment they came back to England in 1961 aboard the Arkadia. Mother was heavily pregnant hence sailing instead of flying back I missed being born on the Arkadia by a few hours. Dad loved the Carinthia. Reckoned she was the best of the fleet. He returned to Canada in August 1991 but sadly passed away in September the same year. I still have his souvenirs & photos of Carinthia. I guess that wonderful ship made her final voyage many years ago now

We came to Canada on the Carinthia in March 1964. Nice warm day when we left England - freezing rain greeted us in Halifax. Passengers were standing on the foredeck shouting "TURN AROUND!" at the bridge.

We sailed to Liverpool on the Sylvania a sister ship of this in the 60’s. It was rough in the North Atlantic and I remember most people were sick for a day or two. My brothers and I went to breakfast one morning and we were the only ones there.

My parent's emigrated from Scotland on this ship in 1965. From the snapshots they took they were not travelling first class. In fact, at least the part where they were was painted green and rusting. For years I honestly thought they came over on some freighter.

That’s really cool! They might have traveled in tourist class most likely.

@@thejagotishow Oh yes. To them it was just something to be endured since they both got seasick. To me it sounded exotic. It was interesting me that they did dressup. Suit and tie for the men and huge 60's hair for the ladies.
