Your expression of these songs are genuine and I experienced them too but decades ago. Imagine going out on a date on a Saturday night as you left the movie theater and you’re driving to the beach and this song comes on the radio? It was amazing. Then you stop and get out for a walk down the beach. I m so happy I lived with thus great music in the 60 s and 70 s.

The deep, rich and strong baritone of Bill Medley along with the 3-octave range tenor of Bobby Hatfield made for incredible harmony. Us gals back in the day never tired of being serenated by The Righteous Brothers!.

I was a young woman when this came out. Romance was common. I am not sure what happened, but as time went by, people lost their sense of romance. Women were appreciated and men were gallant. Each generation seems to be less romantically inclined than the one before it. I truly feel for young people today, they are missing the most beautiful thing ever, and that is young love...

Memories from the late 60s we had dances in the gym with no shoes called sock hops. This was one of the favorites for slow dancing.

It was an amazing time for music, the music was so rich back then that no matter what genre you heard, it was quality! The other song they recorded was "Hung On You" released in 1965, Same Feel as the first two. Thank you Rea.

My older sis usta hang at a bar just of the SunsetStrip cuz Billy&Bobby would frequently drop by after playing their local gigs. She said that the 2 were really sweet&humble with everyone in spite of their spiraling fame. RIP I don't think that they actually wrote any of their big hits, but romantic love songs were really big in the 1950s thru early '60s... Thanx Rere!

That was a very well judged reaction. You dug deeper into the song than I ever could have imagined! How about a listen to Lara Fabian, anything from her From Lara With Love show, maybe Caruso or Broken Vow. A very emotional and talented singer.
