What a shame, it's a gorgeous resort. Looking at it, lots of the main stuff is intact, I'm like maybe it would be worth it to repair? I would TOTALLY stay here if it ever reopened. If they aren't gonna reopen, they should really liquidate the stuff inside as it is all very nice and worth quite a bit.

I had an apartment there for fourteen years, you would be suprised at what went on there. The 80's rocked! The place always smelled like the 50's. Last of the big old girls. All marble.

One of the best places yet. It's unbelievable how extravagant these resorts are by the ocean. Never in a million years would I see a place like this in my lifetime, so with you making this video, I got to experience almost 18 minutes of it. Absolutely beautiful themed rooms and halls. Would've been great to live in that time era and got to stay at that resort while extremely famous singers and movie stars came to visit. Awesome video

Great explore. Love the decor...I researched this resort. Its under a major refurbishing right now. Thats why the carpets are pulled up and everything is like new or has been cleaned. Probably why the bathrooms were new in the pent house. A lot of rich people rent out the suites or penthouse in Fl for their summer home and only use it part of the year. Also why food and clothes still there. Its set to reopen after refurb is done...the security guard is obviously asleep on the job lol. Beautiful resort with history.

My mum is from Liverpool England and grew up when the Beatles were playing. I had the opportunity to visit the cavern which was a club that the Beatles regularly played in. It was awesome to see and brought back lots of memories. Thank you. I screwed my leg up and can't do much. She's being around Christmas and New year but it was awesome to be able to catch your vids 😊

It is going through renovations it had a fire in the the electrical room and the the fire department forced everyone out I lived in the hotel apartments wen it happened we are not allowed to back in it until the electrical room is fixed and it had slight flooding on the first floor from irma

I will say, I know this place is in Miami and they are renovating it do to two things the first thing that happened was a fire in an electrical room and then 10 months later hurricane Irma hit causing water damage. The top 4 floors are tenants who had to leave temporarily until the water and fire damage is completely fixed. As for the art studio it belongs a artist in Miami that does regular art showings in the hotel and surrounding studios.

Great video!!! This resort has only been closed down since September due to hurricane. It's supposed to be under renovation to reopen at some point. This place has been around since the 1950's but has not had the best of luck in resent years. Perhaps this is an opportunity to start anew and come back better!

By the way, the waist high peep hole is becoming a standard in most newer hotels, it’s at that level for wheel chair bound guests, probably was a handicapped designated room. The old CECOM building is within eye shot of my companies headquarters. Rich with history, its where they first developed Radar, along with many other classified projects throughout history. Another excellent explore RnK, you guy's find the best place's! Whoever left the radio on, might have made a deal with the security guard, or it could be the guards room? If it was the guards room, they sure had plenty of nicer room's to choose from! Was there electricity in the room with the radio, or maybe it was battery operated? The quality, and amount of furniture left behind is mind boggling, not to mention the personal possession's.

But it was amazingly a beautiful resort what a shame its abandon and all those beautiful pictures on the wall, why would they leave those behind. Questions that we will not get answers for. One of my questions is if the place got abandon left to ruins, why do they got a care taker in them, if the place looks like its falling apart cause no one is caring for them. Doris,, this place is still an active investment for someone or some entity. Yeah,, it might be abandoned,, but either a corporation picked it up on the cheap & is holding it for future renovation/investment return,, or a bank's got it in their portfolio just letting it sit. The city as well could actually own the place for unpaid taxes but highly doubtful,, they would have auctioned it off with someone paying pennies on the dollar for it. Answer to your concern,, this place is still "a valued asset" to someone so they've got deep pockets & protect their investment against vandals & "people who break into places they're not supposed to be in",, hint, hint. This place is still worth millions to someone..

My parents spent their honeymoon here in the 1980s and it also happened to be spring break so the place was jam packed with college kids partying all day and night. At the time my parents were only 19 and 20 so many of the kids thought they were there on spring break as well and invited them to party with them. They enjoyed it so much they actually returned the following year for spring break again and then again the following year lol. I don't think it was abandoned permanently just closed for repairs. If I'm not mistaken it was damaged by hurricane Irma

Probably one of the best explores I've ever seen. Amazing find. It's so incredible that some areas are untouched still. Security guard probably stays in that apartment with the radio. I think you may be hearing spirit communication, not the caretaker, just my humble opinion.

my cousin built it from bottom to topping off party the top floors are apartments all privately owned. he told me they went for a base price of 2.5 mill each so its not cheap. the fire alarm short circuited they need to rewire all of it

There was an electrical fire in the sprinkler room. No guest areas or rooms were ever touched by smoke. The Hotel is closed at the moment so renovations can be done. It is by no means an abandoned resort far from it.

The Beatles famous pillow fight photos, were taken in Paris in 1964. The Beatles stayed in a private house in Miami when in Florida. Their last concert was in 1966. And I doubt that this hotel was even built then. But I enjoyed the video.

What an awesome place to find! Everything so pristine and Unlooted or graffitied up. Also those rooms were so fresh looking. Those desks & chairs r very current. I see them at homegoods and such. Too back u couldn’t get to that other part or the outside

Thank you... amazing video! I know this hotel and the history behind it. Sad to see graffiti and miscellaneous mayhem at this Grande Olde Dame of Miami Beach hotels. All the hall pics are of the stars who stayed and worked there throughout the years. Including The Beatles. You guys rawk and treated this property with great respect. Thank you.

Little psychology lesson for you: when people are not productive, contributing and are just given things that most people work hard for and struggle to have, you give an insentive to continue to not work, and not better themselves. And that homeless sees no reason to do anything productive or positive because why? Did you all find out why it's not being used??? So much really nice stuff. Hell I would take one of those beds if I knew it didn't have any bedbugs. Some of those lamps were beautiful. The tvs were flat screens. Just seriously crazy that it's all been left behind and not being used. Thank goodness that no one has trashed the place.

Great video! You know it's amazing how some of these places where people who have more then the have nots in America then yet left everything behind like was nothing! Don't know why is that about? But for some reason they should make that resort for housing for people who needed most!
