I think the old lady just died and there are no descendants to inherit the place. And it is so unfortunate because the house is wonderful, the furniture is insanely beautiful. It is the perfect old world / antique house.

You didn't see the photo's of her with what appeared to be her grandkids? Okay...could have been grand nieces and nephews but it's still family. The house is most likely still in probate. Families arguing in court who gets it and it's contents. I've seen people in probate so long the house rots and falls down. The house I'm living in right now has been in probate for 9 years and the "kids" of the lady I rented from 12 years ago can't kick me out because since she doesn't quite legally own it yet, she can't rent it out to anyone else so it's better to leave me here and get some rent than to leave it sitting abandoned. F--king lawyers and greed...

You did a beautiful job on this place even with Kristy not joining you. The roof must be in really good repair given there is no peeling paint or wallpaper. Those glasses in the kitchen are SO 1950s, along with a lot of the general decor. Its a beautiful house in a seemingly isolated spot, and, as usual you captured its mood and personality perfectly, I love your style and music choices...every time. The channel is growing nicely, only 30K more subscribers and you will get a silver play button! It still amazes me that with your talents you haven’t been swarmed with subscribers, but they will find you...you are so much the best at this kind of exploration, no stupid tricks and fake jump scares, just pure artistry. Keep on keeping on...you are in the right line of work here. ☮️🖤🇨🇦

To research property need the address or the nearest Crossroads. Look it in a Plat book ( goes by county) or the county register of deeds( might have a different name) or the court house ( they might have information in regards to the property if there any dispute or findings.. local newspapers also and in some communities they might have their own historical society

@@janismeader924 A lot of times counties will use GIS systems that will show you the plot of land and who owns it and who is paying property taxes on it. Not really hard to find out who owns something -- usually public info. Would be good to contact those people and ask "is it for sale? And "what happened to it?", etc.

My guess is that this was only ever a summer house. Basically I didn't see anything that I probably wouldn't leave at my summer house during the winter if I could afford one. I wouldn't want to move a truckload of stuff every season so I would make sure that basically everything I need is always there and I only need to bring fresh food and a suitcase or so of additional stuff. If this was true the people who left there the last time most likely didn't know yet that they would - for whatever reason - never return. This would explain why the house must have been very tidy when they left and it seems that only food was left that would not have expired by the next year.

I am surprised that it hasn't been vandalized yet. But I bet with the land you are looking at a nice buck to buy this place.

This place makes no sense at all. It's beautifully decorated with antiques that could have been family heirlooms. The photos show the family and the children. The bedroom with the crib is spooky. Why would you not take your children's things when you left? The rugs are all down and perfect on the floors. It's like they are just at the store and will be home in a minute. Have you ever looked on line at the county's tax web sights? You can put in the address and the information about the place will come up. It will tell you who owns it and how long and if the taxes are paid. It looks like the electricity is still on and working because the fan was working. That means someone is paying the electricity bills. I really want to know what happened! Oh, and I think all those "fake fireplaces" are real. They just covered them over.

Sandra Nokes I think someone owns the house and is paying taxes and electricity because owner is alive and probably in nursing home. My grandmother is 97 and was living alone until a few months ago. She had a car accident and we went and got her and she has been living with us in another city. We keep her electricity on but her house is the same way. All her stuff is still there and no one is home.

I'm an antique collector who also used to work in an Americana/folk art collector's shop in the 80's and 90's. Basically the house's contents are a mix of older, Victorian to early 20th century items--larger furniture like the piece with the basin and ewer on it, or the dining room sideboard--and lots of folk art and Victorian retro/reproduction decor from the 90's. The two paintings on boards are from that era; we used to carry paintings exactly like that in the store. The white brass bed looked 90's as well, and a lot of the other items, kitchen items, vases and stuff like that, the quilts, most of the bedding, lamps etc. were also from that decade. I'd guess the house's last inhabitant had some old family heirlooms and added in a lot of items in the 80's-90's when she was in a good place in her life and had some money to spend on her home. The setting of the house is gorgeous and it's an amazing old home. Someone here mentioned a probable legal battle over the place; that sounds believable. I can understand people abandoning remote farmhouses in the middle of nowhere, but this home looks to be in a prime location with that lovely lakeview and all; I can't imagine that it isn't worth a pretty penny.

WOW!!!! That house looks nearly identical to my Grandparents house. Laid out just the same way...only when they died the family kept it up and much cleaner. That house differently has a Grandma feel and look to it. Beautiful find. Thank you for sharing...bring back so many wonderful childhood memories. But I will say I don't believe that a family left all their things behind because it was haunted. That house is well lived in and the pictures on the walls of family is reminiscent more of an elderly person or persons that had rooms set up for grandchildren and great grandchildren or may have had family members living with them. Or their may have been a tragedy like a car accident that took the entire family or just the parents and the children went to live with family members. All just guesses of course but they're far more likely than a haunting theory.

I think this is one of your most pristine finds. Hauntingly beautiful. The antiques, vintage linens, clothes, paintings, ceramic tiles, wooden cupboards, wallpaper, glassware, antique lamps, children's toys, et al, is juxtaposed with a bit of decay here and there but little dust and no vandalism. Like you, Robb, I can never figure out why and how people leave behind their personal possessions-- especially in this case as there are so many wonderful things. We always think that old creepy places are more likely to be haunted than places that have a nice vibe or are something like a modern condo. This is what makes these kind of explores so fascinating-- getting little glimpses in the way other people lived! :)

Excellent exploration. When you find a place such as this, check the expiration date on the canned food items. It was likely purchased 12 to 18 months before abandonment. Also, those fireplaces were all real and active at one time. They were closed off because they lose heat and are a means for bats to enter the building. Also, the chimneys often deteriorate and rather than do the maintenance it was common to close off the fireplace. Often you'll find a round metal piece that's a hole to install a stove pipe. Quite often the little heat stoves were taken out for summer and stored someplace in a basement or outbuilding. When winter approached the little stoves were brought back and the stove pipe connected. It was a beautiful place at one time and often times you can go online to Beacon (or whatever the state uses) to determine ownership and tax status as far as paid or delinquent. There's a lot of forensics that can happen to find out a lot more if you're interested.

How refreshing to see a place that's not been vandalized! Since it's on a lake, my first impression was that it's a "Lake Cottage" in the tradition of fairly affluent people. The abundance of wicker/rattan furniture reminds me of the summer home of some wealthy people on the island where I spent some of my summers. And I don't believe those are fake fireplaces, Rob. My guess is that they were sealed and used to vent space heaters like the one in the living room downstairs. You can see the chimney behind each of them, plus there's a bezel thing around where a stove pipe would enter. What a wonderful place, though! Thanks for giving us the tour.

If you say it's haunted just be careful that nothing attaches itself to you guys. I had a friend that only went to haunted locations and one in particular had an evil history to it and what happened next was crazy he said nothing but negative shit happened to him and his family and eventually he went to a priest and then the negative shit stopped. Food for thought.

I know, if that was the case, that the person died and no one in the family wanted anything, they at least should have donated some how, turn it into a tourists attraction, it's an amazing house with a lot of antiques, near the lake. I know people would have love to see it and know a little history about it. Someome worked hard to have that home and kept it in great condition, ashamed that it would be such a lost. Such a beautiful home.

AMAZING find! One of my all-time favorites. You all seem to be impeccable at finding these unique, antique untouched spots...seriously, I'm amazed by this place and would love to know more. All the beds are perfectly made, but the pillows on each bed were moved from the top of the bed...not like someone who messily throws them off with reckless abandon, but somewhat gently moved from the top, just by a couple of inches. Somewhat creepy, strange and out of place. I also noticed those racist, blackface figurines alongside that watermelon knickknack...wow, they were intentional in their racist collections! That wallpaper in the hallway by the staircase and the portraits and paintings were all amazing as well. This and the Alice and Wonderland house are probably our favorite untouched houses! I'd love to see more of this type (and cathedrals, temples, places of worship) in the future!
@MissTeaq

N Corp I noticed those figurines as well. I’m not sure that they were intentionally racist as much as they were a sign of the times. I had relatives (native African American) in the south who had some of the same stuff.

At 9:22 "it's like an old style wet bar - before they had plumbing they used to use these". Umm... not quite. It's called a "Wash stand", and is more akin to a bathroom sink -- before people had bathrooms/sinks/showers. This is what people would use to wash up. Probably worth a lot of $$ since this one has lamps mounted on it and a big mirror. They would fill the pitcher with water, then empty some into the bowl to wash with. Sometimes they'd throw the dirty water out the window and then rinse/wash off more with clean water.

I am left so confused.. if something would have happened to one of the children.. wouldn't they have came back ? Or if they did just get up and leave then why did they not take any of the pictures? I would never leave my home without my pictures if I knew I wouldn't be coming back. I just don't understand this one. And that house looks in pretty good condition considering it's been abandoned since about 2001. That right there is the craziness thing to me lol

When my mother sold her house here and moved upstate, she asked me to make the place presentable to the new owners. Those people told me to leave whatever we didn't want and not to worry about cleaning everything. But when I want over there I kept finding things to do like mopping and checking for cowbwebs. Weirdly I could not allow myself to leave any mess there. I guess all those years of mother inflicted guilt had sunk in.

Hmm, I know my great grand parents farm was lost because after they died no one bothered to pay the local taxes. I'm wondering if this was a grandparents home and it was lost after they departed and over due on taxes no one wanted to pay. Such an antique jewel. Most abandoned houses always have the "ghost stories" around it. Without specific incidences and facts, it remains an "Urban Legend" for local folks to enjoy bantering about. Great find and video! Two thumbs up! You should have asked if there were any spirits to knock twice....
