Saw all the Can-Ams at RA in the '60s and '70s, and now live about 20 minutes from the track. The July Vintage weekend is a highlight for me every summer, when I can see and hear some of these magnificent beasts once again. Nothing like the Can-Am before or since!

Im sure this series was the inspiration for Those Wacky Racers cartoon. I loved this series as a kid and miss the no stops attitude and all the independants up against the legends.

I think we’ve seen the last of these cars unfortunately. After JP had that freak backflip on the front straight, I think it scared away all the entries. Nobody wants to conquer the track in these beasts anymore

I've sometimes wondered why Chrysler didnt seem to be involved in can am 'I imagine a no holds barred hemi might have dominated. Mopar generally dominated if they participated.

Sorry but I don't think any of these drivers are close to the drivers who actually raced these cars

An 18:50 video on CanAm racing, and the first 8 minutes is crap. So much for high performance, eh ???
