If this is done properly and with care, there’s no reason for the wheel to get scratched, correct?

Yes, correct.

You can still run into weight chasing even with SmartWeight, I've seen it happen on many occasions. Unfortunately, the technicians using these machines aren't trained properly and they will just hammer on whatever weight that keeps coming up on the screen instead of tracking down the problem. I'm not sure if Hunter actually trains the technicians at the shops that purchase these machines, but they need to emphasize that "OK" doesn't always mean balanced.

I'm not trained by Hunter on this machine, (maybe in the future ) ,but I'm not stupid /lazy enough to do weight chasing, I won't do it to my car, so I won't do it to our customers. Just common sense, but others are lazy, even though they do know it's not right and when they get really busy, they can get careless too.

How much weight is too much to balance a wheel?
@baclieustud6 жыл бұрын
Just wondering,,at 3:53 ,how can weights stuck or fallen under the balancer can cause weight chasing...please clarify. Thanks

Yes I am also wondering?

To me seams like another reason not to blame the machine itself.

Where are the load cells in the machine? If they put it in the video it probably matters.

It's basic housekeeping. End of story.

Several mechanics and dealer service centers have told me that Road Force "isn't necessary", or, that they "used to have" a Road Force kit, but because techs "had trouble using it", they went back to a regular non-Road Force machine. A Hunter in most cases, just a more basic model

Well I gotta say most work in tire shops for good reason.

Or u can deflate the wheel turn it on the rim, inflate it, then balance it
@dumbeezy54803 жыл бұрын
does that work on a low profile too?

Hi, we're sorry this video didn't cover everything you needed to know, but we wanted to let you know that your local Hunter Rep is a phone call away if you would like additional help. They can teach tips and techniques to combat weight chasing and many other issues, along with making sure your balancer is performing as it should be. Thanks for letting us know.

Rob, where's your shop?
@zipzap47063 жыл бұрын
@@Tony-ib2vm it's crazy how many shops have techs who just don't care. My rule of thumb to start is: 40 years old or older, clean shaven, well groomed. I've found, unfortunately, millennials just don't have the "care" required.
