Back when this movie came out my girlfriend took me to see it on a double date with her sister. The sister’s boyfriend and I were dreading it. We assumed it was going to be like Dirty Dancing. We didn’t know anything about Road House. By the end of the movie he and I were cheering in the theater! Our girlfriends were disgusted and upset. It’s been one of my favorite movies ever since!

Yes, Jeff Healey was indeed blind. He had a rare form of cancer that took his eyesight as a child and would eventually cause his death in 2008. He was a legendary Canadian musician and we lost him far too soon. His father bought him a guitar when he was young and he learned to play at a school for the blind, but he came up with his method of playing on his own. Regarding Sam Elliot's mustache: there's a wonderful line in the show "Grace and Frankie", when Sam Waterston (as his character) makes the following comment upon seeing a picture of Sam's character: "There's ten people in the world that can get away with that mustache and he's nine of them!" Also, "Road House" is a particular type of drinking establishment. It's built along a highway in a small town and gets a fair amount of intinerant customers.

A dear friend i went to school with her dad and Jeff's dad were brothers. She didn't tell many people to keep his information private. Only told a few that she knew would keep it private. I was one of the lucky ones. She misses all of them as they've all passed on. She tells me fun stories from family reunions. He was the life of the party ♥️

The ending is inspired by the true story of Ken Rex McElroy, a town bully of Skidmore, Missouri. In 1981 around 40 people surrounded his truck in the middle of town in broad daylight and he was shot to death. Nobody saw anything. His case is still unsolved. RIP PS

The movie makes a lot more sense, the villain, the escalation, the ending, when you realize this movie is a Western. Townsfolk have a problem, one of them calls in a good guy gunslinger. He starts cleaning up the town, falls in love with a local good girl. The rich land baron sends his bad guy gunslinger and there's a showdown. Then the town rises up against the evil rich guy. All it's missing is riding off into the sunset.

The late, great Swayze in this phenomenal piece of work. After Dirty Dancing and before GHOST. Swayze trained with Martial Arts' legend, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez who also makes a cameo in the movie. Made as an modern-day Western with all the troupes you may know. The late Ben Gazzara (Wesley), hot as hell Kelly Lynch (Doc) and Sam Elliott (Wade) are all on their A-game. The late Jeff Healey was a great recording artist. His band indeed recorded so many songs for the soundtrack. Of all the songs on the soundtrack that wasn't heard in the movie, "Angel Eyes" was a single and No.1 hit. Dalton was a philosopical bouncer. Knowing the nature of man and how to kick man's a^^. A lot of what he says is kinda true. Believe it or not, a lot of guys took his knowledge and used it. There was a sequel in 2006 and it was ok. But not trying to be exact like the original. A long-awaited remake is in the works from filmmaker Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity) with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Bill Murray has a prank associated with this movie. A script writer friend of his ended up marrying the blonde actress that played the doctor/romantic interest in this movie, so whenever this movie comes on TV, or he puts it on to watch it, he'll get to the sex scene between Swayze and her, and no matter what time of day or night, he'll call his friend. When his friend answers Murray will say in a creepy voice, "Your wife is cheating on you. I'm watching her having sex with Patrick Swayze right now. He's got her up against his wall." Then he'll hang up before his friend has a chance to respond.

Great reaction. The exterior of the Double Deuce bar was built specifically for the film and torn down after filming was completed. Kelly Lynch, who played Swayze's love interest, wasn't originally cast in the role - it was offered to Sharon Stone, who turned it down. Now I always simply skip the first two minutes of your reactions, though. Funny the first couple of times.

It does annoy me that Elizabeth gets all mad at Dalton after he kills the one asshole guy. WHY??? The man literally pulled a gun and was about to kill him. I'm pretty sure self defense was justified.

You guys should react to both Saw(2004) and Identity(2003). They’re great horror movies with shocking endings.

Great movie - I know you don’t do music reviews, but check out Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Healy play Look At Little Sister. That blind dude was a guitar hero back in the 80s/90s.

Dalton mentioned to the doc that he went to college in search of faith, be he was really looking for purpose. He found it as the towns savior.

Dalton was basically what James Bond would have become if he’d never been hired by the British government. The martial arts, the cool and suave behavior, the witty one-liners, and the final massacre of all his enemies once they take it too far and make it personal. He’s an American mulletted James Bond who never left the private sector.

Small detail that's easy to overlook. Dalton is interested in those unique closing shutter headlights for the same reason he always has a beater car, he can not worry as much about replacing his headlights or just having them busted out when he works at night.

It's true what Dalton says when it comes to fighting...one guy goes to the emergency room the other guy goes to county jail neither of those two outcomes sound like winning to me.

He's right about no one winning a fight, legal trouble, jail time, medical situations, and drama. It's more fun to go shot for shot or play beer pong it's also less hazardous.
