As a Montanan, raised by some south dakotans and married to a north dakotan, I'll join in the midwest. We save the ditch chickens for the slow days, but many a bird has been shot 3 steps from the open truck door in a stubble field driving out to the brush patches. We have some great areas, it's deceptively hilly, looks flat compared to the mountains in the distance but enough elevation you can stalk animals and not just walk shelter-belts. Can't give up the mountains though, snowmobiles on the flats gets way to boring, and may as well just give away the dirtbikes.
