I'm a truck driver, and I been in that kind of situation, but not as extreme. What most 4-wheel drivers don't get is that we're working not cruising around town, we drive 11hrs, we travel long distances and we're tired. And if we cross paths with someone like that we're probably not gonna take it as calmly as this truck driver. At least for me it would depend on how my day has gone.

Truckers can't carry firearms in the US.
@TheRealChorLee10 жыл бұрын
Chris Pappas Not according this this. It depends on the state and local. Unless otherwise specified in § 173.54(f), a personal loaded or unloaded firearm lawfully carried by a commercial motor vehicle operator is not considered in commerce and therefore not subject to the HMR. Under this scenario, a commercial motor vehicle operator who carries a personal firearm while in the performance of his or her duties is subject to local or State jurisdiction regarding such matters. This response has been coordinated with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

The fact you so casually say "dude would have been shot as soon as he stepped up to the truckers window" is chilling. I know the gun crime in America is bad but, do you lot really just shoot another Human Being that quickly? Or are you exaggerating just a little bit?
@bombud110 жыл бұрын
***** no, its the fact that crime is so high and some people feel they can just do whatever they want, and some dont think about their actions till its too late. people are dumb, and you dont know what the guy is going to do. he did just stop in traffic, get out, and confront the driver in a threatening manner. that alone shows he means to do harm. and given the fact that he went after the guy with the camera, that did nothing wrong to him in traffic for him to even be upset, shows he means to do harm. so yeah... these days, you never know what people are going to do to you. and some things can be done in the heat of the moment and sorry cant take it back. so all of this going and dude leans into your window, shoot him in self defense, maybe he learns his lesson if he lives, you drive on down the road and back to your family unharmed, and other people that would have been harmed by the same thug are safe as well.
@adamschwartz691810 жыл бұрын
the reason it wouldn't happen in america is because people like this guy attacking the truck driver only attack people weaker than them. They are bullies. Bullies don't want to be hurt, and in the united states where it is legal for people to carry firearms, the bullies don't know who has a firearm, so they aren't as blunt and stupid as this person. this guy knows it's against the law for the trucker to have a gun, so the guy is free to harass and fight him as long as he wants, and the truck driver can't legally do anything to injure the bully. everyone of you saying we shouldn't have guns doesn't seem to understand this pretty simple concept. and that is completely ignoring the different cultures. good luck getting rid of 100+ million guns, and if you do try and take peoples guns, you have to have men with guns to take our guns, and that will just cause problems. an armed society is generally a polite society. of course there are exceptions, but this video is a little shocking to me because I cannot possibly imagine this happening where I live. again, the criminals don't know who has guns. thats why in the united states break ins and thefts usually occur when the building is empty, whereas in other countries, the criminals know NO ONE has a gun so they can take a knife or a club and just harass, rob, rape and murder people without the threat of being killed by someone weaker than them. a gun puts everyone on equal ground, and yes this includes the government. a woman carrying a concealed carry can defend herself from a 300 pound rapist/murderer who is intent on doing them harm, even if that person has a gun, the woman is still on equal ground.

My fat pistol pointed out the window with a nice little scope on top generally gets people driving away. Why pull it? Well it instantly causes people to reconsider if their ego overload is worth their life. If a car jumps in-front of you while driving in order to stop you, they intend to do you harm, the pistol comes out at that point. There are places in every country, guns or no, if people stop you on the road like that, the only expectation is that they want to take your life.

Australians don't own guns. Virtually nobody. Never ever met one in all my decades of living. And our gun crime is a teensy teensy fraction of the USA's. Every week there is a new story in the media of an "accidental" killing in America. This is a perfect example. Nobody got hurt, the truck driver handled it in a mature non-aggressive way. And he had plenty of time to phone 000 for the cops too. Nobody.got.hurt.
@Nozerone10 жыл бұрын
Synch9256 A few months back I looked up the numbers to gun related crimes of the US compared to Australia for a project I helped a friend do for one of his collage courses. During this time I noticed something while doing research. Not long after Australia started their new anti-gun law, the rate of home invasions skyrocketed. Not as a gun related crime, but as a breaking and entering crime. Sure Australia doesn't have as many gun related accidental deaths and what not, but other areas of crime rates have gone up once the average citizen was denied the right to protect themselves with a fire arm. Sure, there are people who die due to an accidental shot, how ever there are millions-hundreds of millions of potential crimes that don't happen every year because the would be victim has a gun, or has signs outside their house warning that the owners have means of defending themselves. What's a resident of Australia have? A no guns allowed sign? I guess that has worked pretty well in the past. Problem with people who are anti-gun is they only look at the change in gun related crime statistics. They NEVER take a look at crimes that were committed with various weapons other than guns, because if they did it would show how an anti-gun law doesn't help, but can and in many cases has made things worse.
@nfsm65410 жыл бұрын
Jerry King The #1 rule to owning any sort of firearm or ranged weapon from bow to cannon is that you should only fire if you mean it. I'd be happy to follow along with that rule if someone broke into and entered my residence and I had a firearm available. Too bad in Australia we have to get up close and personal with criminals if we're to fend them off in our own house and either punch, bludgeon or shank them.
@unapro310 жыл бұрын
Synch9256 Australians do own guns, 1.5 in 10 own a gun, we are ranked 42 in the world for gun ownership per head of population, please don't base your information on the fact that the people you know don't own guns. Not everybody who owns a gun feels the need to boast the fact.
@oEnder010 жыл бұрын
Synch9256 By your logic, with Australians not owning guns, there should be zero crime with guns. That's the fundamental flaw in trying to deny rights to gun ownership, the criminals continue to have guns and now they know no one else legally has them. If the actions of this driver are any indication, the idea that this person doesn't have a gun gave him much more propensity to put everyone else in danger by driving a dangerous weapon erratically. As the vehicle poses immediate threat of deadly force, it is in fact a weapon, being misused by this moron. Not having a gun did not "diffuse" this situation because the hothead wanted to hurt someone and wasn't stopping. When he realized he was being recorded, he decided to go after the witnesses, thus putting even more people in danger. The truck driver could have made everyone much safer by blowing this guys brains out onto the road when he climbed up on the cab, and I'm guessing the world would have been a better place for it.

Dont know what started it, but the car driver wasnt gonna let it go. He has a very bad attitude. Imagine his wife and kids wen he gets home.

try that pull in front of me and stop bullshit with me, i wont stop. I try to be as carefull as i can, because i dont want to hurt anyone, but i wouldnt have stoped for this guy. keep going , never stop if you feel in danger of your life, and this guy was nuts. When he started kicking my truck though, i would have beat him under his car. Dont touch other peoples property, you have the right to defend your property. Assholes everywhere, be safe

Thankyou for the footage you took the company who owned the truck took civil action against this guy from the car and the trucks dash cam and trailer cam got the footage of the original incident where mr car driver ended up charged with 25 driving offences under state law and 10 under federal laws. I would expect hed still be in jail now.

Why didn't someone call the police on this? There seemed plenty of time to do so and would have been WAY more useful than just recording the incident, yes?

I see this video spawning arguments on guns. So many people are ignorant of the issue so I am going to try and clear it up. Yes there is an issue with guns but there is no easy answer. If guns were to be banned then all of the law abiding citizens would lose they're legal guns but the criminals would still have they're illegally bought guns and would continue to buy illegal guns. What would we do then when criminals break into our homes in the middle of the night with guns? Also, the point of the 2nd Amendment is for citizens to have protection against the possibility of tyranny in government, not to prevent crime. That is a very real possibility and justifies the Amendment. As I said, there is no easy answer to the issue other than strict background checks. To outright ban guns is not the answer and will cause many other problems. Anyone who disagrees is doing so out of ignorance. As for the countries where guns are illegal, who also have lower crime than the USA, that is not strictly attributed to having no guns. There are many other reasons for high crime rates in the USA and crime is going to persist with or without guns. If a criminal does not have a gun he will find another weapon. We need to deal with the root of the problems such as poverty and drugs. Without addiction, addicts would not need to rob people, without people starving and homeless they would not need to steal or kill to feed they're families. There are so many other issues that if dealt with would dramatically decrease crime in the USA. Anyway I hope this had some effect on the people who are ignorantly arguing about guns laws.

I'd say 99% of car drivers have no clue to behave around big rigs like that. The reason they are slower and take more room on the road to manoeuvre is purely because the driver needs that room. Not because we're bullying off the road. I hate ignorant road users...

Yeah but here the self-defense argument doesn't fly so well. Unless the attacker had a gun as well, he would've been charged with murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, or whatever the case may be. And to those saying "Should just let them fight and sort it out" ...Clearly, the Truckie was not a willing participant! He was refusing to get out because he didn't want to fight. It may not necessarily be because he's scared..It could just be that he's a pacifist who doesn't believe in violence.

as a trucker I've had people act like this for a rock coming of one of my tires and chipping the windshield and it's crazy the lengths they go too to pull me over so I call the cops and wait for them to arrive and have them cited for illegally detaining a commercial vehicle after explaining to them what glass coverage is on their insurance policy and the fact because I have mud flaps installed correctly that I'm not liable for any damages.

Thank you for getting involved. Not many people would have if for no other reason, cause even we know, (truckers), what a pain in the ass those big, slow, lumbering brutes called big rigs can be when your behind one and in a rush to get somewhere. We've been behind one once or twice too. Lol. And some people are always gonna hate on 'em but most of us don't want to inconvenience the general public if we can help it.
