The fact that most games today utilize the same "engines" kind of bothers me as well, it kind of hits differently to realize a game has been created in a engine that is open to the public, and depending on the developers there is something that makes that engine recognizable to the eye, like in the new Robocop game, it kind of instantly hits Unreal Engine for me watching from gameplays. But indeed, there is this exact benefit which is very positive, a tool and a method that works generally for this engine should do for all or most games based on it, which saves some further specific workarounds, and it is all really cool. This is a game I have on my list, but I still didn't try it out personally, I kind of wanted a more carbon copy of the Road Rash games which I didn't touch in a while but have an reserved space in one of my favorite bike games. And this one seems really fun, one simple thing I would like to come back though is that the player needs to run back to his bike on foot like in the Road Rash games, as did the opponents, I think this added more intensity or even realism to the gameplay and can be up for some fun laughs. Nice findings, and a great video. 💙

Yeah, this game is not quite the Road Rash, but it is still quite good at what it does. Running back to the bike would've required a whole different animation set... Was it even an option in late Road Rash games, like Road Rash 3D? I do not remember, but I'm pretty sure as soon as RR games switched from sprites to models they've abandoned running. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm not, you can say Road Redemption is true to the spirit. I'm also planning to make a small texture pack, but I need an artist to complete it...

@@SimpleImprovement Now, I'm not sure if RR3D had that mechanic but Road Rash Jailbreak had it, and I'm certain the N64 Road Rash had instant respawn. So, yep they eventually decided to retire that mechanic for some later games, Redemption included.

@@midnightkitsune23 It's quite understandable, really. Even though it might sound easy, there's quite a number of animations and rigging to make. Not to mention that with a big 3D world and and ragdoll physics you have all the chances to fly very far away from your bike. But, yea, I gotta say, the game does lose a bit with instant respawn. It was quite brutal in earlier RR installments when you've had run to your bike with a chance of being run over by a car.
