@jasonwoody80414 жыл бұрын
i had a 45. i was the odd person but i prefered the 45 as it has a better fit to the intake manifold. fairly easy if you dont care about the tps. custom throttle cables and get rid of the fuel pump and run a fuel line from the tank to the carb. you will lose the carb heater if you like to drive in the cold. and if you want to keep the tps you will need to make a bracketand do some light mods to the carb. i got my cables from max air engineering but i do think they offer the tps mod service as well.
@mixa7910004 жыл бұрын
Did the lack of a TPS sensor affect the ride?
@jasonwoody80414 жыл бұрын
i had it on but i know of a lot of people who ride without it. all it does is adjust the timing a small amount based off throttle possition. if you unplug it completely you will get a flashing yellow trouble light in the cluster unless you have a aftermarket ecm like the dynatech. otherwise tuck the sensor away and tape the sensor in place if want to make sure it doesnt move. it turns just about 1/2 turn.

The paper clip got hot because it was to thin to handle the amps/ isnt conductive enough most likely. You can absolutely bypass it without worry. If you really want super cheap way to get around it you can wire in a 30amp or higher rated toggle switch (make sure its waterproof rated) to act as the key.

Hi just a question what did you do with the fuel pump, can you run it without the pump just on gravity alone.
@jasonwoody80417 жыл бұрын
bull suit yes you can go without a pump. On that bike i had a mikuni hsr carb. The speedstar version was set up to use the pump but only because they used a small float bowl valve. If you have a speedstar hsr carb just swap out that float valve to a standard mikuni one. If you have a stock carb you can still got pumpless buy changing the float bowl valve. The biggest one you can get is one off a grizzly 4 wheeler. I think it was a 660cc or 700cc motor. Newer ones went fuel injected so look at the older models.
