You guys made my day!! Thank you for this video because I am the proud new owner of a 2013 Coupe. I love every mile I drive it. Awesome car!!

Yeah, I was thinking that the 0-60 was wayyy off. Motorweek actually has great reviews, they did mention they couldn't get traction though.
@sleeksilver12 жыл бұрын
It is a 1.8 turbo, not a 2.5. Other publications have clocked low 6 second 0-60 times. They even had a disclaimer that it was traction limited. Did you even watch the whole video???
@IKhanNot11 жыл бұрын
In terms of features you're right. The thing is though that all electronic gadgets is just one aspect of a car. The Benz will ride nice and heavy, be quieter, have a more luxurious interior and feel more effortless all around which is what makes a Benz a Benz. You can't compare the 2 anyway and features like whether I can plug my iPod in or not doesn't make one car better than the other.
@1970borntorun3 жыл бұрын
You know, it's interesting. I just went from a 2013 G37x sedan to a 2014 C Class Sport Sedan 4Matic, and I'm still adjusting to the slightly numb electric steering. This isn't a "criticism" per se, more of an observation. That G37 model, or better yet, an E90-era 3 Series would provide the most steering feel, but the Benz DOES feel very precise and refined, so I guess it's a pretty fair trade :)
@MrTONYTONYM12 жыл бұрын
how is it a waste of money? C300's V6 engine consumes at least 15L per 100km and is only nearly as fast as C250 sedan. Sure you can say C300 sounds nicer but with every inch of throttle you push comes with a heavy price of gas. And besides i don't think it would cause you some big troubles if you are driving a C250 and arrive to work just a few seconds later than C300.
@adrianniemiec86692 жыл бұрын
I believe it is capable of less than 7.9 0-60. Properly broken in , I say 7.
@mlps9312 жыл бұрын
you only get that on the luxury versions they took it off for the sports version to make it look more sporty and improve aerodynamics

Should do 0-60 in 7.2 secs in Australian version anyway
@realchimera12 жыл бұрын
You can't compare this car with 2012 bimmer3. That car is so good. It has no competition at least for 2012.
@59summerset12 жыл бұрын
I cross shopped a Focus with the C class. The new Titanium trim can go for $30,000 and you're getting more equipment than you would in the Mercedes.
@59summerset11 жыл бұрын
The Focus is actually quieter at 70mph. 65db vs 68db for the Merc. You won't notice much of a difference besides losing that v6, but a ST Focus will outrun anything apart from the AMG.
@FicoBezKocnicaBL12 жыл бұрын
Well they should have done it on another day. This car is faster than 7.9 sec to 60.
@MIAthe30512 жыл бұрын
its a real let down that we dont get exhaust on both sides...how much would it cost after market to get exhaust on both sides?
@bmwmsport1112 жыл бұрын
it was asking more like "should i get RWD luxury over FWD entry-level" wasnt comparing driving specs, features etc. i know that they are NOT competiators. if i was comparing i would have replaced Honda civic with BMW 328i
@MrTONYTONYM12 жыл бұрын
yeah i guess some people prefers the serenity and the sheer smoothness of the V6 over the turbo4. But if i were to get a V6 C-class, I would be a C350 not a C300 lol
@Trades4612 жыл бұрын
It's not a 2.5L on this newer model. 2012 and beyond C250 uses a 1.8L Turbo 4 cylinder. You are right though. My 2011 model with a 2.5 V6 is lethargic. Car's too heavy for the 201hp and 181lb/ft engine to haul.
@bmwmsport1112 жыл бұрын
What's a better buy? Honda civic SI or Mercedes Benz C250 coupe? They put the same power, but the only difference is the power train and brand class
@onoff31412 жыл бұрын
This engine is more powerful than your 3.8 LOL! STAY REKT
@JuanDG9310 жыл бұрын
my turbo sometimes stop working after setting off a light or accelerating a little hard for like 10 min and i have to turn off the car and wait i don't know if this happens to anyone else with this car.... and my c250 sport sedan does the quarter mile in 15 secs at 94 mph!! and 0-60 in around 6.8 secs !!
@kevinon22s12 жыл бұрын
"It's a clean car if you want the sporty look close to the C63 coupe with the economy of a 1.8 inline 4 with the AMG wheels and good looks, speed is not what this car is for, if your like me and have tons of speeding tickets for driving a fast car,you would like this car its for you."
@Insanity_Crow12 жыл бұрын
This is kind of sad when you consider Motorweeks own test of the 2012 Focus showed faster 0-60 times. Granted I'd rather have the Merc, but this to me says buy the 350 or pass. Either one you buy is going to break a lot though.
@Jeremandre12 жыл бұрын
ITS NOT a 3.8!!!! its a 5.3 LS4.303 hp 330lbft of torque
@pontiacGXPfan12 жыл бұрын
Unless you like the thrumming and buzzing of a 4-banger in addition to the whooshing of a turbo. Which is why i recommend the C300. People seem to forget that fuel economy depends on how the car is driven and not always the factory ratings.
@siamiam12 жыл бұрын
their not testing the cars to sell the cars, they are testing them to give a factual report on the car, you cant always take the best times from a test to base what it will do ,some times you have to take all the numbers from various sources to get an overall average over the past few decades they have had performance times that were slower and faster then other testers you use the sit as an example ,the 90 esprit they tested was quicker then other testers back in the day
@Raffix39412 жыл бұрын
Why "especially if it's a German car"? the word coupé is of Frence origin, in German the word is "Stufenheck-Limousine" .
@sleeksilver12 жыл бұрын
Are you seriously comparing a Civic to a Mercedes? If you have to ask, you aren't even in the target market.
@siamiam12 жыл бұрын
different cars, different weather conditions, different tracks etc etc......
@IKhanNot11 жыл бұрын
Lol where did you read that? If 65dB is correct for the Focus then it cruises quieter than a Lexus ES350 which is probably one of the quietest cars for the price. I haven't driven a Focus so I can't really comment on it but still the Focus and Benz will have 2 different types of feel to them which cater to 2 different kind of customers. I've driven a C300 which was amazing but that's the kind of car that caters to what I like in a car.
@bmwmsport1112 жыл бұрын
Nice car. Though the price is abit too high. I really wish the generation after this doesn't steer me away from this generation. That way the a used one wouldn't be so bad. Good vid

No HID's? 16.1 sec 1/4 mile? Nearly 40 Grand? No wonder it will only make up 10% of their C class sales.
@YankeemanLT12 жыл бұрын
I'd have disagree with this Mercedes decision. They've had it on 190, w202, w203. Its something that makes the car stand out. And the star they've put on this one is way too big. In my opinion, every Merc should come with it.
@mluu51012 жыл бұрын
fugly headlights. screw benz are wanting to charge more for projectors. hell, screw them for charging ~$450 just for split & fold seats. this is why i'll never buy germany luxury.

I really miss the old hatchback. i want one so badly.... or rather, I dont, cause theyre unreliable, but still..
@blaboy201212 жыл бұрын
BMW can get their 2.0T to produce 240hp with much quicker times. plus it gets 36mpg on the highway
@pontiacGXPfan12 жыл бұрын
Even if MB does have prior experience with 4-banger cars in Europe, this isn't Europe. The C250 is a waste of money as are all 4-banger powered sport sedans. The C300 is better except it is now AWD only.
@autonathan12 жыл бұрын
I would take a 328i Coupe over this if I wanted a "sporty" car, but if I wanted a luxury coupe, I would get the C350.

Meh just put the extra money in and get the C350. You won't lost out on too much real world fuel economy and get a ton more power to go with that wonderful solid ride this car gives. I test drove an 08 C350 and it has a great blend of power and comfort.
@FooFightor112 жыл бұрын
7.9 sec 0-60 LOL that's on par with a base model corolla
@Jeremandre12 жыл бұрын
ohh i understand..........but i always thought mercedes built bigger and more powerful engines..........and btw its 5.3 v8 LS4..........it never came to mind that Merc would build such a little engine.........thats all

@DamienRasheed12 жыл бұрын
This performance is not as great as they are being made out to be. Especially with the performance BMW managed out of their 4 cylinder. I'm a Benz dude, and I still have to give nod to the Bimmer. SMH
@techdude669312 жыл бұрын
I agree. I like Japanese lux cars better. More value and better reliability. I think If I could buy a luxury car right now, It'd probably be the Acura TL SH-AWD w/ manual and tech package haha
@Howie26212 жыл бұрын
You're right about performance, but as far as build quality, Mercedes trumps new bmw's.. the new 325i is amazing though, i think it gets close to 40mpg while still 0-60 in the high 5 second range... Id have either, but clearly Benz has gotten a whole lot better with quality and reliability even to rival lexus fags.. I think this coop is pure secks looking, even though i wouldn't go for anything less then an AMG..
@mcximus12 жыл бұрын
0-60 in 7.9 sec..I think the baby bimmer will be home already by that time. Merc and base 3 series are price competitively too. Merc is 40 hp behind the baby bimmer too. My money is on the bimmer

@saleemjavaid88704 жыл бұрын
Hey bro. How unreliable was it? Imma grad student and I found a cheap 2012 c250 coupe with very low miles one owner. Has accident though but no airbags deployed.
@HighFidelityFox4 жыл бұрын
Saleem Javaid k currently have a 2013 c260 and have only had one issue. The fuel injector valve malfunctioned and was causing the car to stall when going from highway speeds to slower speeds. Set me back USD 250 but have had zero problems since then
@donbosco01014 жыл бұрын
Saleem Javaid I was having oil pump problems right after the first year, Mercedes took care of it. And then it was the transmission jerking when going from a higher speed to a stop. They put a rebuilt which did the same thing. I might a got a lemon, but considering how much I would have to pay if I owned it, I decided to not get any german technology unless I lease it.

Is your C250 (1.8L turbo 4 cylinder) stock or tuned? Even with Stage 1 burger motorsports tuning and hardware installs, it's impossible to crack 6 seconds with the C250.
