This car has sleeper status and trifecta makes a tune for these ..all one would need is minor upgrades to be faster but... quality is better then previous generations for sure.

GM has had their ups and down and now that they're leaner on the brands, they have been able to focus on the main sellers. I'm routing for GM in the long run.

Trunk size number is wrong, that number is for the eco, normal cars are up over 16cuft. Otherwise good review as always guys.

I test drove this car here in Canada, it is fantastic! And I even prefer the styling over the Fusion. I think the Fusion's big open mouth grille looks kind of over done and ugly, and I can never stop noticing how its headlights look disproportionately small. This malibu on the other hand looks very sleek and solid. Not to mention how much more user friendly Chevy MyLink is than MyFord Touch!

but the sonata has less tourque and the turbo does not get full boost until 3000rpms which means it doesnt reach full torque until 3000rpms the malibu reaches full boost and 260ft lbs at 1700RPM and holds it untill 5500 so now who is quicker:)

motor week you failed why are you testing a car with regular fuel in it that recommends premium? I own 1 and the owners manual recommends premium and states spark knock may occur with any thing less than 89.

"This is the most powerful domestic midsize sedan" NOPE. Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger with the 3.6L Pentastar have way more power, 285HP and run 14's in the 1/4 mile.

I like the car but the tail lights in the LTZ model look ugly. Better go with the tail lights of the Eco. Any way it a really nice car not bad.

dodge avenger has 283hp from a v6 and 260ftlbs (which is the same as the 4cyl malibu BUT the malibu reaches Full 20psi boost and 260ftlbs at 1700rpms and tops out at 155mph with the 19" package so you mean to tell us you think the avenger is faster? and by the way the avenger v6 gets 14city and 21hwy the malibu get 21-24city and 30why so tell me which is the better deal:)

There's absolutely no reason a mid-size Chevrolet should cost $30,000, no matter the trim. Actually even a full-sized Chevrolet costing over $30,000 is inexcusable.

Anybody else wishing the Mal still had the 3.6 liter V6? This engine was perfectly potent in the Cobalt but this is not a Cobalt. GM clearly doesn't want the Malibu to be competitve with the rest of the segment. A huge step backward comared to the previous model.
