It is time to go to Bleak Inlet. Timberwolves, moose, and aurora awaits. There is also a bunker to be found, once we have the materials. Bleak Inlet is cold... very cold!

It would be neat if the animals reacted to baiting.. like dropping 5 acorns in a pile, would attract the deer for a radius around the acorns.,.. and if you make a kill, the predators begin moving towards the kill within a certain radius.. and baiting rabbits with carrots..ect... would be an interesting and fun dynamic to see..

You can attract ptarmigans by putting rose hips near them to draw them closer and they'll eat the rosehips. Just like a wolf will eat your ptarmigan pie if you leave it near him.

You could make two wolfcoats leaving them on an entry to bleak inlet for when you eventually come back for more moose. Ready to switch out with the bear coats.

Love the content. Stay warm and stay safe. I just ended my ~170 day interloper run here at Bleak Inlet the other day. Wolves caught me in at half health in a -50 degree windstorm and I panicked. Forgot all the preparations I had made: I didnt put on my ballistic vest, didn't strike my marine flare, didn't stim and run for base. I pinned myself in a corner and died to the cold and my wounds. It happened very fast, and in hindsight, I should have paused and given myself time to think my way out. Never underestimate that cold though. it finished me off in seconds once I had treated my wounds. One more day and I would have been done with Bleak Inlet. New run started in DP and I'm back to hammer hunting. Also: the bunker here in BI does not have a workbench but HRV does.

I found that if you go up a log that is off the ground you can evade wolves bears and moose. It has to be a certain kind of log though.

Bleak Inlet is, next to Blackrock, the region I am most intimidated by. Thanks to WINTERMUTE I feel like I know how to navigate it, but between Timber Wolves and the cold, I always end up leaving it pretty late game to explore and loot. While I know Zak has handled wolves well in past videos, seeing him struggle a bit here was actually encouraging!

Just wanna add that I can manage to keep Timberwolves at bay with just a regular torch, and constant 360 surveying while walking (helps counter them attacking you in turns/from angles + it's realistic). It doesn't break their morale, but it doesn't need to if you can make your way to where you wanna be.

Just discovered you can spawn in Blackrock on Interloper. Instantly eaten by Timberwolves as soon as I came up from the river bed. 0/10 do not recommend. Edit: Spawned there again and didn't get spawn camped, going much better. I give it a 1/2, like a coin flip, +2 for the two guaranteed boxes of matches and -1 for the Timberwolves.

The way fleeing works for all animals, is that they choose a random "flee point". This can result in things like wolves running into walls and attempting to continue to run through that wall. I wish they would make it more reliable instead of this method

The timber wolves seem to have a lot more fur on them, so is their hide any warmer than a regular wolf hide? I feel like it should be, but it's probably not.

The Spence Homestead in FM has a set of shelves near the safe which gives you 6 pieces of metal, IIRC. It's certainly enough to repair the tower. The washed out trailers in BI also have some metal you can use I believe, as you are already there.

Hey Zack Im struggling to get back into the game with the updates coming out, do you not feel this is a bit pointless since you will have to re loot everywhere with each update for the new loot and/or worried changes will be made that mess up your home base?

Not pointless at all imo. 500 days is a long time, and he would be going to each region more than once or twice anyway. Nice to find new loot on those trips!

@marygatdula2744 kinda what I was thinking but I just don't like the idea of going back through everywhere I have already done, it took me personally 270 days to fully loot all the areas before the update, I do not want to do that another 2 times or more based on updates

As Mary said above, the world will be revisited several times anyway. In a way this run is a journey through the DLC release.

I remember my first time playing interloper. I think I spawned in timber wolf. I was completely lost and wandered around some mountains where I found the broken rifle. Wish I could pick it up and repair it at the ammo shop. Would the only reason I go there.

The one part of this game I really dislike is how every single time you need to do something with a fire a damn windy blizzard always shows up. I've done hundreds of camp fires out in the Canadian winter, and this has rarely ever happened. Looking at you Hinterland 😡 The cheap game mechanic wouldn't feel so nasty if it was at least accurate.

To be fair, this is moderated by difficulty. On Voyager it rarely happens, and Voyager is the default game mode
