If I don't do 10 reps my mother in law is coming round for Christmas
@vinnyvtec87222 жыл бұрын
Jesus, that is going to a dark place! Last xmas I tried to stop the mother in law coming in by spraying her with silly string when she got here, but that didn't work. This year I might try holy water lol.

Those top sets were siiiick. 300x2 he's right the first rep was harder than the first, bar rolled slightly away from the shins made the first half of the pull harder. Second rep was like butter. 300x3 was sick too. All reps were moved exactly like they should have. Would have loved the side angle. Great stuff boys 💪💪💪

Great to have you guys back. I missed you, because KZbin is my only choice as available "television" to watch for about 7 years now, and the Stoltman Brothers videos (especially the ones with a lot of humor) are amongst my all time favorites and most entertaining. AS for the 505kg deadlift, I've been wondering for awhile now, what Tom's present PR would be. I mean, back in 2019, at WUS Dubai, Tom pulled 950 lbs.! That was without a suit and THREE years ago, back when he wasn't nearly as proficient and strong with deadlifting as he is now! I can't help but think that NOW, on any given day, as long as he was feeling fit and uninjured, that he could EASILY pull 455kg (1000 lbs.) With how much you have improved with your deadlifting in the past few years, surely, you currently MUST be close to pulling ..... 475kg? 480kg? 490kg? Hopefully, we will "thoon thee", as Glenn Ross says.

I have been training on and off since I was 16 (I am 31 now) mostly more bodybuilding type of training as well as martial arts. The last handful of weeks I changed to a more strenght based training and my strenght has gone though the roof. deadlift is 210kg, squat is 180kg (I only started to do benchpress again the last two weeks I mostly use dumbbells) but its only at 90kg atm the max I ever done was 105kg but with dumbells and I do 45kg in each hand no problem for 8-10 reps. But damn seems like once people saw someone could do 500kg everyone is trying to do it. Come on lads LETS GO!!

I've noticed on every set he does the first one is always the slowest/hardest, then they fly up. This to me tells me that on the first rep the bar isn't in the right place but it is on the next one or two reps as he lowers the bar into the correct position. This is something that Eddie Hall touched on and why people's first reps are the hardest. I'm sure it's something that Tom and his coach will work on to perfect and hit that 505kg deadlift. 👍👍
@GTiR232 жыл бұрын
I heard EH on about this too, and it happens every time for me, first one seems harder than 2nd or 3rd, I've no idea why as I think I set up perfectly, but obviously not!

I thought it was just me with morbid goals to boost performance, when I run half marathons, I say in my head, if I slow down, family members or pets will succumb to whatever ailment they currently have, but if I meet my target they will recover. To date have never slowed down, its all in the mind, pain is temporary.

Lower the weights slowly - that is where you gain most strength. You get stronger by putting the weight down with as much resistance as you can muster, rather than lifting them up with the most force! It obviously doesn't look as impressive to non lifters though! You will be shocked how quickly your strength is sapped when you slow things down . You go from an easy 10 rep set down to 5 or 6 and you feel the burn! Next session when you go to lift, you will feel much bigger gains!

Not to take anything from Tom, I believe he will put up some BIG numbers when fully focusing on deadlifts. But I recently re-watched Martins Licis' short, where he does 275kg/605lbs for 18 reps with more in the tank. No wonder he won Rogue's that same year, that video is insane.
