Road To Ninja Has The Strongest Naruto Movie Villain (Menma Uzumaki)

Naruto Road To Ninja is one of those weird shonen movies with a wacky premise. Naruto and Sakura are taken to this alternate world where the Konoha 12 characters have alternative personalities, and the main villain is literally Evil Naruto aka Menma Uzumaki. We get the Naruto vs Menma fight where the 9 Tails fight each other, and Obito even possesses Menma to fight Naruto and Sakura.
There is a lot of fan service with Minato and Kushina, we finally see Naruto interacting with his parents in a normal way, and also get the Akatsuki for the sake of it. Let's review Naruto Road to Ninja, and see how good of a movie it actually is.

Fun fact about this movie, there are 2 filler episodes linked to this movie. 1 is a recreation of the hot spring scene but with the normal cast as a comparison to the movie version. 2 the reason the Sakura of this world isn’t here, is because she got sent to the normal world. And she and the cast are confused why her memories of them are wrong and they cringe at how she expects them to act.

Fun fact Now that I think of it, do you know Naruto was the first character known to use the flying raijin in OG Naruto. Sort of... Let me explain. When kakashi was trapped by zabuza's water prison jutsu, Naruto transformed into a demon wind shiruken, which Sasuke then throw at zabuza. Naruto then transforms back to himself. This is sorta like the flying raijin. Now imagine the kunai Naruto threw at menma was a transformed Naruto, he could have landed the flying raijin level 2....sort of. Now imagine Naruto was carrying several clones transformed as kunai, he already has a counterfeit flying raijin. Also, the average ninja could also probably use this technique with minimal chakra drain when using a few clones...unlike the flying raijin

Going into this movie, I was really excited about Menma's character. I knew going into the movie that he was an evil-counterpart of Naruto. The movie timeline is actually before the Pain attack on the village, the information in the movie deliberately tells the viewer otherwise but that is a misdirection by the writer, the reason Naruto and Sakura for that matter know who Kushina an Minato are is because this is a genjutsu that created a world where they never died Naruto and Sakura's memories started to align with this reality. Sakura and Naruto both have character arca in this movie which a lot of it is re threading their manga development, the reason Sakura and Naruto are to some degree out of character is the same reason all the other character are out of character just the effects on Naruto and Sakura are more subtle.

As I stated that is a misdirection, you yourself know that it doesn't fit that timeline as Tsunade is up from her coma and the village is in the condition it was pre Pain, but the biggest give away the events are before the Pain attack is Naruto not being treated like a hero at the begining of the movie in fact he is being mostly ignored. Also no one talks about the war, which was the main subject in the manga at that time period, there is also the fact it's Naruto's 16 birthday meaning this is one full year before the last day of the war.

tbh road to ninja was a fantastic nothingburger of a movie and I really liked it. They went and fucked around with an AU and honestly much like a good chunk of filler involving minato and or kushina, it gave everyone a LOT of things to chew on. About the nepotism stuff: yea the world of naruto is build upom nepotism in a lot of ways. A Jonin can recommend a ninja to be considered for a jonin or chunin exam. While this is usually their team captain it doesn't have to be. And the hokage is chosen by the officals of the land of fire and the village elders so yea they are gonna pick the strongest ninja but also they are shown to consider whom trained them as a main criteria so yea definitely something to keep in mind

Honestly, I love this movie only for the Minato-Kushina-Naruto dynamic. It's so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I always thought about it as a way to blur the mind of both the spectators and the characters about the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Seeing Naruto so happy kinda make you think "... would the infinite Tsukuyomi be this bad ?... " at least that's how I always saw it. Other than that, yeah, the movie suck lmao

Road to Ninja is basically one big Naruto What-if: Fanserive The Movie. Its like the anime staff wanted to to do their own fan fic which while isn't bad itself, does leave this movie feeling all over the place narratively. Personally I don't mind this movie, it's much more interesting than Naruto The Last since this one is clearly non-canon.

The issue in chapter 3 (going by the anime, granted) was her saying that Naruto was a brat because he had no parents to discipline him (which honestly, while a dick thing to say is far from inaccurate). She wasn't venting about her parents, she was shitting on Naruto's behavior and blamed his lack of parents on it. I don't doubt she'd be hesitant to shit on her parents to Sasuke or Naruto after this chapter, but the issue itself was over something different.

Even if Itachi is basically a pacifist, that doesn't mean that he can't mobilize and adapt in an unnatural situation, especially if the confrontation is a serious one, he prefers most of the time to finish the fights as quickly as possible, that's why Itachi should never be underestimated. Itachi lived his whole life so that Sasuke could defeat him and become an Uchiha hero as well as a hero of the leaf. That, obviously, didn’t go as planned. However, it did allow Sasuke to grow and begin to start asking the right questions that would eventually lead him to becoming the man he (Itachi) wanted him to be. (Itachi was killed so that Sasuke could grow more powerful both as a character (to us in a real world moral sense) and as a Ninja. Itachi from the get go was extremely talented which more precisly means that Itachi just like Minato was pretty much an unique, authentic and especially unpredictable Shinobi which could exceed or overcome almost any expectations. (at least that's what we were shown in the anime by the creator Masashi Kishimoto himself) In my opinion No One in the series should underestimate such an unpredictable Shinobi like Itachi, even Madara (I won't say that Itachi can beat him, but at least he will be pretty much able to put a decent fight that Madara will also be impressed in my opinion). That is why it is arguable/debatable that he probably could or could not defeat foes like Minato, Obito or Pain/Nagato. Itachi was also a prodigy from birth and he knew all sorts of tricks and he's definitely a troublesome fellow to encounter. In my opinion, they are both very versatile, unique, interesting and especially very unpredictable in their way of fighting style approach. If you make an effort to look or to rewatch at all of Itachi's fights, you might discover that he's pretty much always able to outsmart anyone during a fight or a encounter, because of his unpredictability in his way of fighting style approach. His way of thinking and his calmness, intelligence and battle IQ experience factor it's very authentic and underrated, his true potential remain still unknown, because he wasn't go all out against anyone during the series.🤷🏻‍♂️☯️ I don't understand how some of you guys even dare or can to underestimate Itachi like that, many of you guys forget that Itachi isn't just any ordinary shinobi either, he is still considered by a very wide range of Naruto connoisseurs to be a very unique and unpredictable character at the same time and no one should underestimate him as some of you guys currently do. ;/ ☯️🤷🏻‍♂️What you have to remember, is that even in his battle with Sasuke, he has been fighting to lose. Itachi has always attempted to avoid conflict at all costs. He has to maintain his cover as an Akatsuki member, so he has to make viable excuses to avoid battle. When he says that fighting Jiraiya would have serious consequences, we know that he has an innate desire not to fight anyone at all, let alone a hero of the leaf, and he was a spy protecting Konoha from shadows. He could have killed Kakashi with ease. Kakashi even states that Itachi could have killed him, and wondered why he didn't. Knowing this, it is easy to see the pieces that point to a picture of Itachi that is devastatingly powerful in combat. In his confrontation with Asuma and Kurenai when he enters Konoha, we see him send Kurenai flying a large distance with a simple kick. We also see him deflect chidori, and snap Sasuke's arm like a twig with a single hand. He also sends Sasuke flying clear down the hallway with another kick in this fight. He is obviously a powerful, versatile, unpredictable and underrated taijutsu user. We know that he can kill with a glance using Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu, and become nearly invincible with his Susanoo. We see him use exploding clones, (it's his one of his unpredictability in his fighting way approach) powerful genjutsu not linked to his sharingan, ( with a single point of a one of his fingers) and making hand seals at insane speeds. He kicks the shit out of Kakashi and he barely moves. Tobi also tells us himself that Itachi could have killed him if it weren't for carefully guarded secrets. Orochimaru beats Tsunade and Jiraiya without the use of his arms. Granted, Jiraiya was drugged, but it's still the point. Orochimaru couldn't use seals at all. Itachi obliterated Orochimaru effortlessly. Itachi has been a step above from the beginning. In order for him to keep his cover in Akatsuki, he had to avoid conflict without arousing suspicion, and the best way to do that was to present himself as being much less powerful than he actually is. The one thing we have been able to see in detail, is his intelligence and unpredictability in his fighting way approach. Itachi has been shown to be able to plan events years in advance, to account for possible flaws in his plans with powerful contingencies, and to use every possibility to his advantage. Shikamaru plans a few hours in advance, and we label him a tactical genius. If that is the case, what does one even call Itachi? The only real flaws that Itachi possesses is a smaller chakra reserves, and his own morality which keeps him from gaining Eternal Mangekyo. But even the chakra is arguable. The techniques we see him use are enormously powerful, and would therefor have a huge chakra cost. I'm not going to say he is the most powerful character in the anime, but I am going to say he is definitely very very high on that list, and probably higher than most people seem to give him credit for. Lastly but not least, Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story.
