Hello from Spain. I love the scenic nature through those two countries by this video. I've never been there but I'm curious to know if there is a direct motorway link all the way from Athens to Belgrade, and therefore to the rest of Europe. For what I can see online, there is not motorway link between western Greece to the Croatian coast via Albania. There is not motorway link between Thessaloniki and Sofia either, although more than half of this path has already upgrade with motorways. So, as of 2021, there is not a direct motorway link with the rest of the European Union via Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and so on. Am I right?

There is a direct highway from Athens to Thessaloniki going to Beograd and then Budapest, from there you can go to the rest eu

You are correct, there are no direct continual full motorway between Thessaloniki and Belgrade. There are remaining only few sections of full motorway. If you take route route E75: Budapest - Belgrade - Nis - Skopje - Thessaloniki through North Macedonia there will be only about 45 km on expresway 1+1 between Polykastro and Chalastra (on the main troute A1/E75) . If you take route E75/E80/E79/E90/E75 through Bulgaria : Budapest - Belgrade - Nis - Sofia - Thessaloniki - there will be 2 sections on normal road (1+1) in Bulgaria - 15 km from border SRB/BG towards Sofia on E80 (currently under construction to upgrade to full motorway) and approximately 35 km in southern part between Blagoevgrad and Kresna on E79 (construction works for full motorway are also in progress.) Anyway those few sections are not any issue when driving, especially 45 km section in Greece between Polykastro and Chalastra is straight and very wide with wide emergency lines and speed limit of 110 km/h.
