The Petro Canada stations when they start at some 140kw charge rate and drop to 30 or 40 64kwh means the active glycol cable cooling has failed and the charger drops to the 30 some 64kwh rate, lots of Petro Canada and even electrified Canada chargers have cable cooling issues in cold weather.

Great videos though love to see winter long distance trekes Calgary to Vancouver. As soon as I get my 2023 Ionic 5 DC charging fixed we will be doing that road trip, my service appt at Hyundai is this Friday the 20th, I'll be renting a Tesla model Y from Hertz car rental

For Petro-Can , I always plug-in first and then authorise from the app. I have found that Electrify Canada is more reliable than Petro-Can around Toronto. I think you have the S3XY buttons? I have set up one of the buttons to start the pre-conditioning manually on my MY which helps a lot. The highest I can get from both is 145kW with low SOC (~15%) with pre-conditioning on 350kW chargers. It's lucky that we don't have that many cases of people blocking Superchargers on purpose in Toronto. Perhaps the people working in the oil industry in Alberta do feel threatened by the EV popularities.

The thing is that was British Columbia, have not seen that behaviour in Alberta superchargers thankfully yet only slow chargers especially at Calgary Ikea

@@POGAuto I always think people in BC are more open to EV because the adoption of electric car is so high there. I've found that the slow chargers are always installed close to the entrance of shopping malls or stores. I wish they are installed a little farther from the entrance so ICE drivers are less likely to take those spots. I actually always park far from the entrance and don't mind the walk 😄

I don't own a Tesla car I was curious about the price and supper charging a Tesla car thanks for the information. And I believe that if you drive any charging stations it maybe most any gasoline stations it may be a problem with idiots parking right in front of them I believe that that stations should have signs up it's for Tesla car charging only to parking only there.

Not an EV hater but man those charging times. I’m driving gas vehicles for years to come until EV lithium ion battery design makes drastic improvements. That and hopefully the infrastructure improves with it.
