They are not pro. Many driving errors which often contributes to accidents is what makes many Nigerian drivers certainly not pro. Overtaking from the right is bad, failure to indicate direction, correct positioning of the vehicle among many other blunders would never qualify them as pro.

Wow. This vlog brings back great memories of traveling from Lagos to Anambra/Enugu and vice versa from JSS1 to my University days in Enugu state University. Most times the roads were good but occasionally we get detours to the opposite side of the road due to bad roads. I saw the good, bad and ugly on these roads. I enjoyed stops at Ijebu Ode, Ore, Asaba and River Nigeria also known as Head Bridge. Back then Luxurious Buses was what we traveled on. That Benin bypass is saving grace. I remembered getting stuck in Benin city for hours due to traffic from the local traffic. For me as soon as I see River Niger in the horizon then I feel so happy. Thank you so much Flo. You have no idea how happy I am. This vlog made my day. Thank God for journey mercies and I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Your story is so similar to mine. We stayed in Lagos and Kaduna at different times while I was growing up but schooled in the East. So I equally make journey to/fro the east at least twice a year. This vlog took me down memory lane. Made me remember my dad who passed in 2009. My dad almost always accompanied me back to school. What our parents do for us. Then, I was in HRC. It was during my higher institution I was left to do the journey alone.

@@joycengozi2008You were lucky to have your late dad travel back and forth with you. I was not so lucky. I had to travel by myself most of the times except when I started my Jss1. I traveled with my late dad. I lost my dad in 2007 and yes we have similar stories. Thank God for protecting us all through those years and till now. I recalled my last trip from Lagos to Enugu before moving to America was when the bus I was travelling on broke down in Asaba around 3pm. The driver of the bus fled the scene when he noticed he could not fix the car. We are all left to find our way home. Guess what, after 3 hours I and a few passengers were lucky to continue our Journey to Onitsha (Head bridge) on the back of a Lorry and we thank God that we made it safely. I have so many stories to tell since i was on that road for a long time. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi Flo Chinyere thanks for your videos. My lovely wife’s name is Chinyere & I am not surprised that people who answer Chinyere do good things 😁. Just a little comment about the origin of the name “Okada” for the Nigerian commercial motorcyclists. Yes, there is a village close to Benin called Okada. Then Chief Igbinedion from Benin City owned an airline in the 80s called Okada airlines. In 1987/88 Chief Igbinedion donated about 1 million Naira (a very huge sum of money then) to the commercial motorcyclists’ association in Benin City then. They were overjoyed. The cyclists took to the streets and started to announce that their new name was “Okada” after Okada airlines. The name has stuck with all commercial motorcyclists in Nigeria since then even after the Okada airlines has gone out of business.

26:10 it is incorrect to suggest that it is unlawful to record people without their permission, there is no law that prohibits filming whatever you can see from a public place: therefore, by right, you can film whatever and whoever you can see in a public place where there is no expectation of privacy. In Nigeria, there is freedom of the Press, a Press-Man or Woman is not just one who is employed by a Media, anyone who covers a story whether by video or audio recording, or even by scripted means etc, is engaged in a press work, and should therefore be allowed without hindrance. I understand that some people might not like being filmed, that is a matter of courtesy, but there is no law against filming in areas where there is no expectation of privacy. I also recognise the harassment intimidation and revenge that a video or photographer might be subjected to in the hands of some (supposed) law enforcers and military personnel, therefore, i recommend that you equip your device with an app that automatically saves videos so that in the event that the device is destroyed or the videos are deleted, you can easily retrieve them online, and such evidential videos can be used to seek legal prosecution and justice.

It’s interesting to know that the right turn just before Ibadan carries you through Abeokuta and Ijebu again. Kinda makes sense geographically though. Wow, so that straight road takes you past all those towns and cities? The time it took wasn’t bad at all - 8 hours. No wonder you even had time to still go shopping after arriving in Onitsha.

I'm glad to read that. Yes, driving one's vehicle would have been the best experience but that causes massive delays; you will be stopped at every one of those per-kilometer checkpoints to "check your vehicle papers". They do not stop buses and other public transport vehicles. Unless you will need your car to move around in the East, those stops can ruin the journey for you to be honest.

Have you seen the zoo road, without marking on the road, how can a driver know which lane to follow, you see what is express way or road in the zoo, shame on you yolubas and hausafuranis. In 2014 I was in the zoo, I asked a police officer, if in case of accident how can you know who is at fault between the drivers when I'm the lanes of the road was not marked out, he laughed foolishly
I investigated why Eko Atlantic city in Lagos is still empty
