I came across your channel randomly as I am procrastinating trying to finish my assessment today, you inspired me with your distant education story, as I am also studying distant education online with Charles Sturt University, I have the convenience to submit my assignments and receive the results online, yet here you are posting your assignment and receiving your results through the mail, also collecting your mail from the post office, albeit from rural Gippsland...thank you for the very much kick in the butt that I needed today...Enjoying your videos and very much looking forward to doing a roadtrip up to Rockhampton, Airlie Beach and Cairns soon...Positive vibes, safe travels and peace be with you...
@BethandPaultravel3 жыл бұрын
Hi @House 🤗 Aren’t looming uni assignment deadlines the worst?! Yes, so much has changed in the last 18 years when I was doing my degree. But one thing is for sure, distance education can be more difficult….you need to be more driven and try to get less distracted. The good thing is that as time passes so do those deadlines and you’ll get closer to the results you want, so you can do what you want to do….including taking a trip up North ☀️ We truly wish you all the very best with your studies ❤️

Fantastic road trip - can't wait to see more of Airlie beach, it looks stunning! We enjoyed the story in the middle too of your results, heehee. My husband is curious to know how long it generally takes to charge the Tesla each time? Thanks again! :)
@BethandPaultravel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie ❤️ we’re really happy that you’re enjoying our road trip so far! Different chargers can take different amounts of time to charge an electric vehicle. For example Tesla Superchargers take only 15 to 25 minutes to charge, whilst the 240v connections on normal PowerPoints would take around 10 hours. The Queensland Government has installed 31 fast chargers with another 18 planned around our state. We have 3-phase power at home and are able to charge our car at 7kW per hour compared to the normal 2kW per hour at home. Having solar power and mainly charging during sunlight hours makes it virtually free ☀️
@juliecullis52033 жыл бұрын
@@BethandPaultravel thank you so much, that's really useful to know! That's fantastic with being able to charge virtually free at home with solar power as well. We're just about to watch your next video! :)

Looks like a great trip. Do you have to stop at all the towns to charge up or can you just skip a town.
@BethandPaultravel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Imogen 😊 Good Question! We were able to skip towns, so we really only stopped when we wanted to take a break from driving, to get a coffee or to have lunch. Usually we would just ‘top up’ which is quick and meant that our car was charging whilst we were getting our sandwich etc. This trip gave us a chance to work out whether “range anxiety” would be a thing and thankfully it wasn’t. Qld gov has put in plenty of chargers up the eastern coast and are now installing them out west. In addition to this there are more and more EV chargers being installed at shopping centres etc that are available to use too 😉

Any particular reason as to why you dont recharge to 100%?
@BethandPaultravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi @OzMick 🤗 Good Question! One reason is because fast charging slows down as you get closer to 100%. The other reason is that we use an App (ABRP) which tells us what we need to get to the next place.
