Back at that time people from out of state must've been so amazed at seeing the various parts of AZ, even more than today.

Well prices in Arizona are almost close to California's prices which is wild considering there is literally nothing to do in this dumpster fire state. Lol

Why would you write generalizations that portray everyone in America from a certain time as carbon copies of one another. In the 1940s, like probably a large majority, my immigrant grandparents and their children were still poor and struggling to feed and clothe their families. I was born in1958, and there were no trips anywhere in the 1960s and 70s, not even an occasional restaurant or shopping for any luxuries. The majority of the people I knew took decades to improve their lives and had to work very hard to do it.

Even though we have advanced so far medically and technologically today I think socially our country was better in the 1940's to early 60's.

The house was in Beverly Hills. I remember one trip through AZ in about 1955. What is now the 10 freeway was one lane each way and with an occasional passing lane. In about 1958, we drove up from Central Mexico, through AZ. One stop was a Hell, California. Subsequently, the State of California condemned the property and the headline of the Los Angeles Times read: "State condemns Hell".

Just remember the "good ol days" weren't air conditioned 😁, my dad was born here in 1921, me in '52, so i've seen a lot of change, seeing the old citrus groves that dominated the northwest and southeast areas of the valley brought back fond memories of getting shot at with rock salt trying to swipe a couple oranges

Thanks for the memories I seem to recognize the back side of the Catalina Mountains and back when Tucson used to have Orange and citrus trees around where Tucson Mall stands now. Arizona seemed allot more Green then, well adding an extra 5 or 6 million people will tend to dry out the land. Have a great day!

Thus was filmed in the Spring. It looked like they had a nice, wet winter. The last part looked like they were driving on Apache Trail going towards the Superstitions.

This is what home movies were like before video camcorders were invented in 1980. Home movie film was not cheap to buy and had to be sent out to be developed.

Alligators in Az, where at the zoo? There used to be a 'tropical' animal park in East Mesa but that closed decades ago. They let the birds go and the 'love birds' released have now gone feral and thrived, they are just about everywhere!
