Road trip to INCREDIBLE Kapuka & Ugwad Falls in Caraga, Davao Oriental
This time I went to explore amazing untouched waterfalls in Brgy. Lamiawan, Caraga, Davao Oriental. We spent there at least 4 hours, all the time we didn't see someone else. River was so clear and clean, I felt like I am in another world. And the falls are both very beautiful and unique. Ugwad Falls is really interesting because it burst in the middle of a mountain rock, that's why it's named Ugwad which means *burst from nowhere*. There must be some cave, where the water is coming from, but you can't see that from the base. I didn't climb it up because it would be very dangerous in such a remote place without someone who can assist me since Ken Ken (my guide, but he never been there before :-) was already very tired.
It's not easy to get there, roads are very rough and it's quite remote area, I don't think some tourists are coming there. But it's so beautiful place, I encourage everyone to go there. Just reserve yourself enough time because it's really far from the main road, I found information that it's just 20 minutes from Brgy. Lamiawan, but it will take you at least one hour from there. And Lamiawan is not on the main road, so you need to first get there. Mindanao never ceases to amaze me :-)
