how is the road condition? is it plain road till the jungle or any ghat/mountain section is there?

Yes it is good road. Only after entering forest date from Veeranahosahalli, 5 kms stretch is bad. Rest all roads are good. There is no ghat section on this stretch

Hasan se aap jab Nagarhole ki taraf aaoge toh google aapko Piriyapatna hokar jungle ke bahar se Kutta le ayegi. Iss route se jungle ka 30 kms nahi ayega. Cab wale ko boliye Piriyapatna se Hunsur jane ke liye aur phir waha se Veerahosahalli hokar Kutta jane ko. Isse aap jungle ka yeh 30 kms cab se ja sakte hai. Agar aap jaldi Kutta pe resort/homestay checkin kar liye toh jaldi pehle Irpu falls hokar ayeye. Irupu falls mein 1.5 hours lagenge. Shaam ki safari 3 baje suru hoti hai Nanchi gate se. 15 mins pehle pahunchna hota hai. Safari ticket pehle se book kara lijiyega. In Nagarhole, if you go in at 1pm and stop about a mile before the exit gate, there is big old gulmohar tree, a man will approach you and ask for a light. When he approaches you, you feel very relaxed, the air turns crisp&cold and you don’t pay attention. But! When you turn to light his cigarette, you only see the cigarette and no facial features..no eyes, no nose and no mouth, just the cigarette dangling from his face…..run! Run or drive away as fast as you can, or else he possesses you and he begins to take away your soul.👹☠️

Take NH75 - Bangalore Mysore expressway. Amazing roads and saves you lot of time. For cabs, go for Saavari as they are very good and trouble free vehicles

Awesome road trip to Nagarahole TR; really lovel; SAI SAGAR declicacies cuisines, especially sambar dosa, dipped idlis etc looked yummy/fresh but u have not shown their menu; pl do show in future in case situation permits; I'm absolutely agree with u regarding the point of human-animal conflict which's wholly a mindset problem; can u tell me from which gate u entered the Nagrahole forest area and what entry fee u paid; forest area looked like a core area with lovely fresh air.

Thank you. Rates are very nominal. I could not take a photo of the menu but 7 people with tea and coffee costed us Rs.430. Taste was good We entered from Veeranahosahalli gate and came out from Nanchi gate near Kutta. Drive is 30kms inside core tiger area. There is no entry fee for entering. It’s just that they will note down all details in one gate and it will have time when you entered. We need to come out in 1 hour from the other gate else a fine of 1000 will be imposed. Also you cannot do multiple rounds in a single day. It is only allowed if you have some genuine reason.

Hi , i have a few questions : planning this trip around 20th July - 1. Is it a good time to visit ? 2. I am also planning to add wayanad between nagarhole & bandipur - how are the roads ? Hilly? 3. Which is better in terms of sighting or experience inside the jungle - Nagarhole or Bandipur ? 4. Bangalore - nagarhole - wayanad - bandipur - bangalore - do you suggest this will be fine ? We will take self drive car so will it be hilly ? Need your guidance pls 🙏 thanks ❤

Hi, 1. July is a good time but it may rain during that time so not very ideal for sighting. But I have sighted tigers during rain as well so it all depends on your luck. The forest will be green and very beautiful though 2. Wayanad is not that hilly and easily manageable. Only thing is in Kerala, roads are single lane and Kerala state transport buses drive very rashly so be little careful. Some resorts in Wayanad are at hill top where only 4x4 cars go. These resorts use their 4x4 vehicles to take customers to and fro. Rest Wayanad is very beautiful 3. Both Nagarhole and Bandipur are equally good but based on prior experience, Nagarhole has better tiger sighting chances specially Kabini. 4. This route and plan seems good. I would suggest include Kabini as lot of sightings happening there now a days. Females with cubs are sighted frequently. If you are very lucky, then you can see the famous black panther Saya. But you need extremely good luck for that.

@@AvisekhBharatinitdgp Bro, Harini is like hot cake these days :D Very difficult to get booking. Earlier booking used to open 16 days before the actual date but now a days KFD have changed the entire cycle, you can say no definite cycle. They just open for the entire month randomly. Very mismanaged these days I must say. Only option is to look every day once in the morning. Apart from Harini, Cheetal is the best one as it is closest to Harini and you can get a glimpse of leopard if it crosses Harini.

Also how far is Harini from the point where safari begins. 2. Our route: Thu: Evening safari at nagarahole and the next day morning safari at nagarahole. Fri: post morning safari, Then leave for bandipur national park Take the 2:30-4:30pm safari. And then leave for wayanad post that. Quick question, is the route safe after 4:30 pm from bandipur to wayanad. Also can you please let us know where safari begins in bandipur national park? As in Google maps location

Not an issue. It passes through some forest areas as well so you may see some wildlife. It will take around 4 hours to reach. The road via Sultan Bathery goes through forest area and it will be night by the time you reach so take decision accordingly

Let me explain the safari gates in Nagarhole. Nagarhole national park is also know as Rajiv Gandhi National park. It has 2 safari entry sides. One from Nanchi gate near Kutta and another one is Damanakatte/Kakanakote side also known as Kabini which is the most popular gate. These gates are far apart from each other so one should book stay according to which gate they are taking the safari from. From Nanchi gate, there is option to book Jeep safari organised by JLR @2242 per seat but from Damanakatte/Kakanakote gate, you get only Canter safari @450 on weekends and @600 on weekdays. For overnight stay near Nanchi gate, you have lot of homestay options starting from 2000 to 3000 per person including all meals. I stay in Serene home. You can check their website. For Kabini side, options are expensive as JLR charges a bomb. If you stay little far from safari gate, you get homestay options starting 2500 per person including all meals. I stay in Country heaven homestay which is 30kms from safari gate and takes 45 mins to reach by car
