Fun Facts • Point Fortin is the smallest borough in Trinidad. • Crude oil was first discovered here in 1906 which changed Point Fortin from an agricultural village to an oil-producing hub. • Trinbagonians say “Point” when we refer to Point Fortin. • This video was filmed in June, 2018. • Clifton Hill Beach is a hidden gem. • Aaron’s Bakery is a must-visit when in the area. • The Namdevco Farmers’ Market is open every Friday morning. Cor Cap-de-Ville & Guapo Main Rd 10am to 6pm • Mr. Haron Ramsaroop, Mr. Allistar Garrick, Ms. Nalini, Mr. Ramlal and Ms. Anna are lovely vendors at the market. I forgot to get the “herb guy’s” name, but he was also very kind and welcoming. • The farmers, agro processors & artisans are so hardworking and they deserve our support! Always #SupportLocal! Have a lovely day, and thank YOU for watching! Love, Reshmi.

Uncle too sweet and the pumpkins look very healthy. It's such hard work being a farmer I cannot express how grateful I am to people like him for feeding the nation, God Bless him and all the other Farmers.

Yes! I have such respect for these farmers who feed the nation ❤ It's why I love visiting all the markets and getting to know the farmers better.

Wow those herbs really lit me up! What a great resource that farmers market is. I can see why it's Narie's favourite! It's a cook's theme park! :) Big love to all!

Everything seems so expensive compared to other similar countries with same products and produce. Wonder how people can afford it. Maybe the wages are higher too. I buy some Trini products here in Canada it's fairly cheap example Matouks hot sauce 2.68 and it's very good too .

Thanks for showing a bit of the South. Very nice video. I grew up in Belmont and Woodbrook, so I only know Port-of-Spain, some of the North East towns and the Western Peninsula. I have been as far south as Couva for a week and to the southwest to Mayaro. Went to Point decades ago for a weekend and the Pitch Lake. I really don't know the south in Trinidad. It is unfortunate that the silt coming up from the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers and the oil spills prevents Trinidad from really have good beaches. I only know Aloo pies with potatoes. How do you make it with a stuffing like in the video? I long to come to Trinidad for about two months to cook my own meals with the fresh fruits and vegetables. Maybe one day. I am very impressed with the standard of the markets that I have seen in the videos in Trinidad. Clean, well organized and inviting.

Good morning TOT, Very heart warming video of my maternal grandfather's hometown and my mother's birthtown. She was delivered at the Point General Hospital in Majica pronounced Mahica. Grandad lived in that neighbourhood and was an oil field worker and a musician (trumpet 🎺) and grandma was a ballroom dancer and dance 💃 instructor among all the other things she did. I have not been to Point Fortin since I was a child but I am encouraged by your vlog to explore my roots. Lovely farmers market and very fresh produce by the vendors. That pumpkin was a feast for the eyes and the senses and all of the green produce made me feel healthy. Thanks for this delightful trip and the reminder of FAMILY unity as displayed with you and your parents and brothers and sister. Enjoy your Friday and Memorial Day on Monday. To all of the TOT family who are or were part of the armed forces of this great country and the 🌎Happy Memorial Day in advance. We salute your service.

That is not Clifton Hill Beach. There is no more Clifton Hill Beach. Atlantic LNG claimed it. That beach is called Guapo Beach and that was the Point Fortin Borough Council doing their job.
