I doubt very much a standard weighbridge would give you an accurate reading on the mott. You should check their accuracy. Depends on type and load cell. You need a warehouse scale or similar to get closer.

Hi! I enjoyed retracing your trip on Google Earth! I live in the middle of the U.S. (in the middle of the state of Iowa), but I was born and raised on the Texas gulf coast, and I miss it. Your proximity to the sea looks like a great place to live! You've done a great job with the Mott. I ride motorcycles, and I get the same sense while watching your video, that you must also ride (drive) like you are invisible, because everything else on the road is bigger and tougher than you and you can't always trust that they will see (and yield) to you as they should! Best wishes!

Hello Tim, Well Bantry has sure changed since I was there about 40 years ago! Thank you for showing us the beauuful Bantry Bay. I'm not sure your viewers are aware just how far West you live. That's the Atlantic Ocean, no wonder the sunsets are so good. Good to see the red Mott on the weighbridge and hear of possible progress with manufacturing millions of MottsI I notice the king pin mounts on the car have been reinforced. Is that an accident repair or a reccommended modification? I'd better get out some 6mm metal and my trusty jigsaw!
@wayoutwest-workshopstuff62996 ай бұрын
Ha! Those plates are just an experiment. Instead of using round kingpins I'd used some threaded bar and that slightly mangled the top hole - lesson learned! So those plates are to stop any movement and saves me filling and redrilling the holes. But I quite like them too...

One thing to check is how accurate the weighbridge is, over in the UK they can be accurate to as much as +/-150kg, which could mean your pedal car could be anything from -80kg to 220kg.
@Tailss17 ай бұрын
He could weigh himself at home (or the doctors) and then weigh himself with the weighbridge as a comparison.

@nunyabiznez81205 ай бұрын
You could really lower the weight by using corrugated plastic sheet for the body. I don't know if they have it there, but its like corrugated cardboard, but clear or white plastic. Its often used in green houses and such. When used correctly, it can be quite strong.
@JennyDecimal5 ай бұрын
That's a really interesting idea. Already waterproofed, and way easier to work with than wood for a lot of people. I would still be a little worried about it strength wise though?
@nunyabiznez81205 ай бұрын
There is a video of a corrugated cardboard (paper version) that was built and held a car on it. It all depends on how you orient it. It is strong against compression on end to end of the folds, but not across them. Take a piece of a card board box to fold it and try on the 90 axis. You'll see what I mean.
