just a perfect example of letting the video, still pics and music tell the story--no need for words or a voice over. Relaxing, and just exactly why most of us want a Rivian, as it can not only serve as a great daily driver but also allows to you get out into nature and have these kinds of experience. Wish I could get a R1T or R1S now but will have to wait until the more budget-friendly (at least for my budget) R2--I have my reservation, though, and I can't wait!

Wife and I road trip to Maine every year. We're "from away", but are diehard Mainers through and through. Last year after a delightful, but rainy walk around Eagle Lake in ANP we come across a lone Loon near the shore. We see them in the sky along the shore of the ocean all the time, but rarely do we see one up close like this. It's amazing. We snap some photos and just watch as it follows us. It was a surreal moment we were buzzing about for quite a while. My gaze was then directed towards one of the parking lots on 233. A red light-bar began to peak through the trees. As we get closer it was apparent what this was, an R1T whose owner had parked and was emptying some trash. With the lights on and with the mist from the recent rain it was almost like seeing a commercial being filmed by my own eyes. Surreal in its own right.

Having road tripped to Acadia National Park in a quad motor R1T I can attest to this being the perfect vehicle for Maine. I didn't get the same fabulous cinematography, but I did enjoy the incredible backdrops of the only national park on the east coast in the best vehicle on the road!

Just saw a 90-minute interview with R.J. Scaringe, and Europe is squarely in Rivian's sights now, as they know there's tons of interest and they see it being a great market for them. I would imagine they are thinking R2 and R3 for Europe but I cannot remember exactly what R.J. said about the European Rivian model lineup. It's coming, though!
@JHGC803 ай бұрын
@@Jmaninaz1 Sure, I'd expect that with the R2 and R3, but I'm not sure about the R1 models. The pick-up market is not very big in Europe compared to the US. But I like the R1T the most. Anyway, thanks for the info, I'll check out the interview.

Excited to do our NY to ME trip this summer in our rivian. It’s only now feasible bc of the access to the Tesla superchargers.

How ironic?! I am scheduled to go to Maine in two weeks and cannot get Rivian to send me my long-awaited high-speed Tesla adaptor! I've been asking for it since early March and no sign of it. Anyone interested in taking one of these vehicles beyond 200 miles needs to budget for 2X your normal travel time. I am actually using the vehicle to tow a race car to a vintage car rally. Without the adaptor, I am budgeting 3X and taking an extra day off work to ensure I can actually make it happen without any issues. So, if you are using your Rivian as a truck (which I am), be warned! If you are using it as a high-priced camera hauling/pizza eating vehicle, have fun.
@msolar6 ай бұрын
For what it's worth, I've done some towing along 95 in Maine with my R1S and had no problems finding non-Tesla chargers. The charging stations at Kennebunk are some of the best I've ever visited. From there, it's only 150 miles to Owl's Head and back to Gardiner (which has a ChargePoint) so you might not need to add much else, if any (depending on the load, of course). Generally speaking from my experience, I estimate adding approx. 30 minutes every 3 hours, i.e. 1.2x drive time. You'll spend more time waiting in traffic from Red's Eats. 🤣
@josephcavatoni44636 ай бұрын
@@msolar Thanks for the feedback and makes sense as the pickup bed really acts like a parachute at decent speed (95 and other interstates). I'll report back after this weekend coming to let you know how it works out. I've upgraded/lightened my trailer and will bring the minimum gear to save on weight. And called Tesla every day for an adaptor update, but I probably have a better chance of bumping into Elvis this weekend.

Poor thing only had 80,000 and the oil looked more like chocolate syrup when we got it. We drove another 145,000 on it. We also had a BMW 318i in 1990 and a 1984 Mercedes 300 CD. Drive what you like and let others do the same without trying to shame them.
