I love that they make the race bike as a race bike (including the Geometry). If you want a relaxed fit bike, then get a endurance bike? This is meant for racing

It's worth noting that unlike Trek & Specialized, Ridley have an all rounder (the Falcn), as well as an all out aero version. Sure, the new Noah isn't for most people, but I don't think choice is a bad thing.

I just wonder why didn´t you make some of these points when the Colnago Y1R came. Some of your comments are valid for that as well. That you will sit far on into the front looks more of a point on that than this Ridley. So that might be even more unstable decending.

Everything in this video seams wrong and biased towards specialized Sl8 and Trek Madone. Sponsorship? Why do specialized provide a 0 setback seatpost, and why do many rider use it? And so I could go on. The picture with the rider when speaking about stack shows the rider is very comfortable on the bike, with no reason for back pain. It looks much more comfortable than a rider stretched out on a SL8 and so I could keep going. Did you get it wrong because of sponsorship or knowledge? by the way I like the way Magnus Cort won mountain stages on the old similar uno-x bike. What's not to like? The brand is not specialized? or specialized do not have a modern aero bike, but a climbing bike with aero handlebar costing way too much - is that the future for non pro riders? Not in my opinion.

And what's worst of all, he makes public opinion and hasn't even ridden a bicycle. 🤣

having the stem be more integrated into the frame as such will make it significantly more aero. this is why naturally no high end time trial bike has the stem pop out of the frame as such. the only issue is going to be stack/reach between sizes. if that isn't properly adjusted, then it will just make the bike way too aggressive and pretty much no person would realistically be able to ride a bike with this kind of stem/frame system.
@roadcc7 сағат бұрын
It definitely looks best suited to pros but hopefully we can get one in for review to see how it performs under a mere mortal
@galenkehler2 сағат бұрын
That's built into the handlebar. There aren't really pictures of the higher rise bar options, but you can go up to 100mm. It basically mimics the aerodynamics we see on modern TT bikes, with flat top tubes and higher hand positions.
@lwittrock15 сағат бұрын
You just contradicted your point; this is not a general use bike for the average cyclist, It's a race bike. Just review for what it is and for the reason it was built.
@roadcc5 сағат бұрын
We just hope all race bikes don’t go this way because aero isn’t everything
@galenkehler2 сағат бұрын
You just dont understand bike design, sorry. 1. Youre not "over the front" with a steeper seat, it just fits better. Each degree of the seat tube moves the saddle forward by about 1.5cm for a ~80cm saddle height, and the front center of the bike is about 3cm longer. So your center of mass over the wheels is roughly the same, just a little more open hip angle. 2. Its not a low stack. The handlebars just allow for a wide range of fit. 3. Aero IS everything. Its so much more important than anything else. And the new fit options allow a better aero position, thanks largely to the high handlebar options. The short head tube allows for people to fit a flat stwm if they fit that way, but there are plenty of higher hands options available too. 4. Little mistake in the video, you cant chose bar width. Its all the same. I will give you props for calling out the expense, thays just absurd 😂

When you say that the new madone is good enough for mads you actually dont know what he thinks or even more important what would his results be on a proper aero bike.

I love/hate it. I like the fact that aero bikes are not dead. I don't love the looks either. My first impression when I saw a picture a few days ago was that it looks unbalanced. It looks like two halves of two different bikes.

Exactly. That aero-thing at the front is weird.
@madyogi61646 сағат бұрын
3:43 Are you sure the stack went low? Well, I don't have the numbers in front of my nose, but what I see is a tall rider on a small bike, or an extremely tall rider on say XL one. Anyway, a bike still has pretty high head tube, that allows to "hide" top of the fork inside. What helps to mask the stack as well, is the top tube that goes under quite a bit slope. And yes, the rider looks to be shifted forward.

Is the stack height really too low? Or have they elevated the top tube to extend the tear drop head tube profile, and integrate the top of the top tube with the top of the stem? Sure the geometry is pure race bike, but I'm not sure the stack height is much more radical than any other aero bike in the pro peloton? 🤔

Surely you can’t draw significant conclusions from the seat tube angle without taking saddle setback into account? 76 degrees might be fine with the right seatpost and appropriately placed saddle

@kidsafe3 сағат бұрын
@@diegoeleazar9154 In my case I have to use a 170mm stem on a bike with a 580mm front-center. That’s front heavy. The Noah Fast in my size has a 600mm front-center, it’s 20mm longer which improves my weight-distribution between the two tire patches. I actually descend more confidently on my Colnago TT1 time trial bike than my Madone SLR.

Many people ride on flat terrain, making a slightly greater weight not only not "completely unreasonable", instead the weight doesn't really matter at all. So, not an informed comment.
@ForestFelvey7 сағат бұрын
A front bias to aerodynamics is a matter of physics. The parts of the bike that arrive at the headwind and laminar flows first are the most important. See the Specialized SL8's design approach for another very capable cycling company arriving at the same conclusion. This is not an informed comment. Ignorant, really.

Being able to choose bar width is indeed important. Ridley deserves no praise here though, they only offer a single flared 36cm/40cm option which honestly isn’t narrow enough for many riders who would choose such an otherwise modern aero bike.
