I did mine in place. Used ratchet straps to hold up doc and lower the dpf. Took maybe hr n half all together

That is a quick method. I wanted to replaces the gaskets, that is why I took the longer method.

You need to have cummins insite or PDI to reset it.

I got a Freightliner with a ISX Cummins cm2250 okay then head gasket blown in frame needed I heard that the new inframe kits are updated parts that are better and almost makes the cm2250 as good as a a cm2350 have you ever heard of such a thing thank you in advance

the new kits should be up to the current standards, I believe they updated the liners.

Love ur videos bro, my 09 prostar engine just died on the high way , dealership says the dpf is super clogged and honey comb is broken into pieces, question is do u think if I change my dpf filter and sensors the truck will start??

Good question, it really depends on if there is other issues with your truck other than the filter and sensor. Without looking at your truck, we can’t tell you exactly.

Is it a requirement to reset the ash sensors? Is there a way to do it without a PDI? Thanks for the informative videos. Making it not as scary to dig into. WLBS

you need to have a cummins insite to do a dpf install. or a device like PDI that is capable to reset it. If not, after some time, it will throw a service code from my experience.

I would imaging at least $1000 lobor cost that i am saving myself. Plus you won't get the new DPF from going through Kenworth, they only carrier the reman.

I think so. The guy who owes it now drives it, never complained about the emission issue.

I think you might have answered this but is it necessary to immediately have insite ran on this if you have the PDI tuner? Mine needs cleaned (or replaced) and I am doing this one myself. I hate labor charges and crooked mechanics, and peterbilt shops. I don't have the tuner yet but will soon.

Hey did you have the insite reset the new dpf system right away or did you run it like that for a while after you installed the new dpf without any issues? I'm thinking of doing this very same job because I'm not trying to pay for labor lol

@@lowriderrider I wound up replacing the inlet and outlet and pressure sensor and that fixed it the check engine light went away 80 thousand miles later and my truck runs perfect I actually gained a few mpg as well

you need to do a dpf reset, if not, you will get a scr efficiency code.

I'm at 57% ash in dpf. How high can I let that go before it's going to give me issues?

The current truck I am working on has 55% ash in dpf, it derated the speed to 55 mph. You should probably prepare to get yours cleaned soon.

I always advice to have your filter clean once. After that, buy a new one. Since you don’t know if it has been cleaned before. I think you better get a new one and keep track of it moving forward.

Hey Quincy I have. A 2018 peterbiilt 389 with the x15 really haven’t had any problems with my motor been a great motor so far

Cummins has more dealers to buy parts. It is easier to get the electronic service tools compared with other motors.
