Awesome, this is very helpful :D I found the tip for falsetto quite helpful for my falsettos low energy.

I didn't grasp right how to make consciously twang. It is my difficulty. I can do a high headier mix close to flageolet sensation in low and high volume (and with messa di voce) between c5 and F5 but between G4 and C5 it tends to squeeze and overcompress.

Great content! I hope more people will watch your courses! You mentioned that we should also be able to sing softly up to G4 after learning the prerequisites. I find this hard to understand because the exercises in the beginner courses focused on energetic and loud sounds. When I try singing softer around E4-G4, I either switch to falsetto or add compression to lean more on mixed voice. It seems like almost no one on KZbin teaches about this, too.

I apologise for the confusion - the beginner course is not yet finished, but i had to begin the intermediate course to grow the channel more for financial reasons. I will return to finish the beginner course later. In the meantime, I can give you some pointers. Firstly, if you can sing loudly in the E4 to G4 range, but not softly, the most likely reason is that you make your articulation less active / face less energised when singing softly than when singing loudly. This will lead to a register change. You can address this by starting with loud notes in this range and then making them softer while opening your mouth more. The instinctual tendency will be to close your mouth and make your articulatory movements smaller as you decrease the volume, and that instinctual tendency is what must be reversed for soft high notes in chest voice. The instinct is perfectly fine for mixed voice, actually, but the energy in the face and energy in the body may not come instinctually in the right proportions, which is why step four is still needed.

So with mixed voice we're technically in m2 langyngeal mechanism and the degree of vocal fold closure we put in which we get from medial compression is what creates that chesty quality?
@VoiceStudioEast7 ай бұрын
No, it is not in M2. Even if you learn mixed voice, it will not automatically allow you to connect to M2. There will most likely still be a crack until you've either learned pharyngealised mix or learned to add cry quality and take the mixed voice high enough to make a smooth transition viable.

hmm up to a g4 softly??? i guess i still need to practice clarity and legato A LOT...i mess it up at e4 if its a u vowel

Not necessarily *very* softly, but you should be able to sing above E4 in a way that is not falsetto but also doesn't sound too belty for eg. a 90's boyband esque sound.
