Kyle Haver I can't hate you for your opinion, but I strongly disagree with you as to terms of Slipknot's sound. The thing is, you'll find the same thing in a lot of other bands listening to the verse instrumentals, but that's just what some people like. And either way, most people are too busy listening to Corey's voice. My point is, a lack of talent is beside what people really care about when it comes to music these days. You can make a fart sound like the crying of angels these days. People usually only care what the sound is like. If the people like it, your golden. Not saying I agree with you. I for one believe Slipknot has more than enough talent to keep themselves where they are and where they have been for the past 19 years. I don't expect a reply, but do as you wish.

Andrea gallantina no way this is definitely a hard Rock song structure with mostly clean vocals. It's what Stone sour has been doing the whole time. A few of their singles were pretty weak, but this is a fairly standard Stone sour sound across all albums

Corey's vocals are probably some of the best i have ever heard in my life. When he sings, you know its him. His sound is amazing.. Eddie Vedder comes to mind with those vocals that when he was singing you immediately knew who it was. So pure, so orginal, and can rock the fuck out. Thank you Corey for slipknot and Stone Sour. Now we can hear you twice as much.

+SMTG Slipknot will always be messed up mentally and even the softer songs like Killpop and Snuff have a chilling mood to them that Stone Sour could never create as good as they are. Slipknot is getting softer (naturally with age, you have to slow down) but the music is actually getting better in some ways. Stone Sour has always been heavy (Get Inside, Mission Statement, etc.) but you can tell which band is which. I am loving how both bands are evolving and I can't wait to hear their new albums. I think Corey said the new SS would be more rock 'n' roll-ish in an interview and he said during his recent book tour that the new Slipknot album may be a concept record so i'm excited.

the problem with slipknot is it sounds like a mess a lot of the time with the different members almost competing to see who plays their instrument the fastest. mick is a poor guitarist considering hes in such a big band and members like Sid and Shawn although being talented just make the music a mess of sound which works in some songs but not in others. whereas this band have two great guitarist a great bassist Corey's singing and a quality drummer and it works perfectly

All depends on how you see it. Some of the point in the making of slipknot was to be kinda messy, loud and completly different from anything else. But stone sour has no vision of that music and I'm happy for it, even tho I enjoy both :) Have a nice day bro \m/

It is a matter of tastes to be sure. I would definitely prefer to listen to an hour of S/S compared to an hour of Slipknot, but, Slipknot takes the speed and dissonance concepts of metal and pushes them to an extreme, in place of melody. S/S has more melody which, personally, I prefer. Rock on.
