Roads in Norway - Fra Langfoss til Kyrping via gamleveien langs Åkrafjorden aug 2019

Vekk fra hovedveien og inn på gamleveien langs Åkrafjorden. Her kjører man gjennom et pittoreskt kyst og kulturlandskap fra bare noen meter over fjorden til 250 m oppe i lia. Et lite stopp ved Trolljuvbrua hører med. Dette er den veien man hadde til Haugesund fram til ny vei ble åpna i 2000.
Markhusveien begynner på tid: 5.35. Åkrafjordveien begynner på tid: 10.54.
Ankommer trolljuv bru med strikkhopp på tid: 16.22.
Away from the main road and onto the old road along Åkrafjorden. Here you drive through a picturesque coast and cultural landscape from just a few meters above the fjord to 250 m up in the hillside. A small stop at the Trolljuv Bridge is included. This was the main road to Haugesund from the eastern Norway until a new road was opened in 2000 which also included long tunnels past the old roads we drive along here.

And another question - at 15:06. It looks like crossings gates, but there is no track. What is their purpose? The bungee jumpers - haha! :D Thank you for another lovely ride!

All the bins at 11:27. Are they for holiday makers to drop off garbage? (Trying to guess the logic of so many bins in a spot with no buildings).

It's for garbage for sure, but I,m not sure if they are there for the tourists or the locals. In Norway we must sort our garbage in categories like plastic, bottles, food leftovers etc. But I do think it's for the locals as the garbage truck might have trouble with emptying the garbage along theese narrow roads. I'm only guessing :-)

@@mrtobbs I also wondered if it might be a single collection place for all the houses along there. I don't know how large the collection vehicles are, but it makes sense they might have trouble collecting at every remote spot. (Or it may take up too much of their time if they cover a large area!). Thank you for all of your replies. I love learning these things.

It is definitely a fish farm, probably salmon
