Very smooth driving. And so much snow! Very pretty. Neat how the tunnels work. Never seen one with a garage door before.

How fascinating! Norway has to be the world champion at utilizing the insides of mountains! I have three questions. 1) Why are the entrances to the tunnel kept closed? 2) On your re-entry, I saw two green signs with pedestrian icons. Are they saying that pedestrians may, or that they may not enter the tunnel? (It looked like some sort of raised pathway on the sides, but narrow). 3) It looked as if there was some snow piled up along the sides of the tunnel all the way through. Is that possible?? What am I seeing, if not? Thank you for these lovely glimpses of your country! (I am in the Catskill Mtns of NY, USA).

Its because in the winter-time the climate differences between the top and the bottom may couse ice bulbs in the tunnel. The tunnel is not suited for pedestrians, but I'm not sure if it is forbidden. The steep hill outside are very well suited for nice walks with good paths. The lower part of the tunnel is painted white for security reasons.
