Candace you guys are so Lucky to have that spring water so close to your house. It would be interesting to find out if the spring water stays close to the same temperature year round. For many years when I was a child we got our drinking water out of a spring just like that. May God Bless and Keep Your Family Safe 🥰 Be Happy 😂 Safe and Healthy 💞

Springs have the best water on the planet! Our Grandparents had a hand- dug well. It never went dry. That was the best water I have ever tasted. When the state came thru there, they were putting the pipes in for the county water, they sank Grandpas hand dug well.

I may taste it one day in my way up to Eagles Rest. So neat! We used to stop at a pipe on the scenic Russell Highway near Helen many years ago. I believe we will have plenty of water this year.

I bet that is a spring. Our well is only 50' deep, and it never goes dry. It runs as an artesian well, but it is a spring. We have several springs that bubble up, and in some places the horses drink where it is coming out of the ground.

Hi, Candice. Lucky, lucky you. I would kill for ice cold spring water on tap. Our domestic water supply is chlorinated and has a strong smell to it. You take care and be safe..God bless you and the kids 🙏..and spring water is much better than what I call city water..When I lived in the country we would go to an area between where I lived and my sister to a spring. The man that owned the property put a box over the area and piped the water out to make it easier for people to gather in jugs or whatever..one day I was there getting jugs filled and a man from our heath department came to gather a jar of the water, he explained to me that because of it being open for anyone to gather water they tested it once a month. Then he told me some of his family would come there from Ohio and get gallons and gallons of the water to take back with them. He also added that, that water was the best water in our county. Just thought I'd let you know some water you might think is awful could be the best ...

@valeaton4538
@valeaton4538 7 ай бұрын
We used to have that . And then the health department fixed it and put a pipe with a shut off off on ,so you'd turn it on and off. Then, it became contaminated when they they built Rt. 81 close to it and also someone put cattle in a field close to it. The health department then permanently capped it off. We'd go get water gorgeous at least 12 years before ot was capped.
@cynthiaogrey4330
@cynthiaogrey4330 7 ай бұрын
To get the water “tested” you usually have to take it to the health department. If there was any indication it was contaminated the health department would cap it and put signage up. Usually. Although I really don’t like the statement “better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission .” FYI. from a retired Public Health Nurse. Love yall!!

Have the water tested. It's probably better water than any you can buy! We had a spring in a big field, he had a pond built. The spring fed the pond. There was a pipe almost like yours where people would get water all the time. You should build a little bridge over to the pipe.

I would test the water for micro organisms.
@laurakarr29
@laurakarr29 7 ай бұрын
Specifically Cryptosporidium and Giardia. A lack of sediment does not equate to a lack of intestinal protozoa. The fact that they have not had any symptoms is a good sign but the water source can be infected at any time from deer and other animals.
@cynthiaogrey4330
@cynthiaogrey4330 7 ай бұрын
Since the source of the water could be contaminated up line from the springs pipe. Testing would only be accurate the day it is collected. Enjoy the spring!!! the organisms mentioned would give you GI symptoms. You would learn rapidly if it is not “sweet water”
@savingthecabin
@savingthecabin 7 ай бұрын
Luckily, I know giardia needs warm water to grow in. This water is way too cold for it. I got Giardia from the lake when I was a kid during Ski camp, and have to know about it as a vet tech too.

We have a couple that bottled and sold their spring water to local neighbours in Ontario Canada. It became so popular they built a big bottling plant on their country property then a recycling building. Its one of the biggest now. They want you to return the bottles to them for recycling. Green lids.

“Saving the Cabin Spring Water…bottled at the source”. I thought maybe you’d do that. ☹️. Honestly I’m more interested in if someone installed a lot of passive drains to funnel the water down to the road…or if you have caves… Lol, I grew up on well water, water so hard you could chip a tooth on it. It was loaded with iron and calcium because of the shale it percolated through. And I didn’t care that the pipes were disgusting; it was the best tasting water! Plus, it gave me strong teeth.
@chuckclark9464
@chuckclark9464 7 ай бұрын
Watching you drink from the pipe isn’t so bad it’s just the fact that the pipe is so dirty I think is the only thing that would really bother me. I’m just curious has anybody ever had the water tested? That’s my only question. I believe it’s good. I’m just curious about the testing that’s all.
