Hi Ryan and family. So I wanted to send some unfortunate news. My father, David Loy, passed away last week and his funeral was yesterday. He was a regular follower of your channel and I believe posted several comments or corresponded with you at one point. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know of his passing and that he really liked your content. We live on a dairy farm in northwest Maryland. I will continue to follow your channel from here on out. God bless

Sorry for your loss John, I'm pretty confident I have read comments from your dad here and on other channels over the years I apologize if I'm mistaken, but I know I've read comments from a gentleman who farmed in Maryland. My condolences to you and your family, Take care

Sorry for your loss John. I pray for the loved ones who have suffered from such a loss. My dad died in 1996 and I still wish I could make a phone call to him. I believe I have seen at least one of your dad's comments. Thanks for sharing your news, so I can say a few prayers for your dad and you.

Ironically enough, my Silverado was having the same trouble and ended up having to get the computer reprogrammed and living out here on the coast, it cost me a bit to get the guy to come out from Medford to do the work. 4 guys in my vicinity who said they could do the work either lied or baled on me...got the work done and am happy that you didn't have to suffer the same probs that I did...

Hey Darrin! Actually still haven’t seen the price of it. All I know is it got me running so it couldn’t be that expensive 😂
@hturbo10072 жыл бұрын
In today's supply chain issues ,I stopped complaining about the price because I'm just happy that I can still get the part. The price is nothing compared to the cost of down time for who knows how long.

The sensor measures the intake manifold vacuum that exists in the intake manifold after the throttle.
@Adam_Poirier2 жыл бұрын
No throttle plate or vacuum that's a diesel engine-An older one without EGR
@tiredoldmechanic17912 жыл бұрын
Exactly as Adam posted. In a diesel engine, the speed is controlled by the fuel delivery directly into the cylinder. It is controlled by an injection pump or pumps on mechanical engines and the engine computer on electronic engines. On a non turbocharged diesel engine, the only restriction to the air reaching the intake valves is the air filter so the intake manifold vacuum is very low. On a turbocharged diesel engine, the turbocharger uses exhaust gases to turn a compressor to pressurize the air going into the intake to provide a denser air charge so the intake manifold air is under pressure not vacuum.

Great awesome video Ryan , better get that truck looked at
@leonardkerns66022 жыл бұрын
The sensor that kicks in the fan is to keep the turbo air boost temp in limit. When the intake gets to warm, the fan kicks in to move air through the after cooler in front of radiator to cool down the boosted air. Important one to keep in mind.

What's causing the driveshaft to break in the combine?
@HowFarmsWork2 жыл бұрын
Hey we don’t ask those kinds of questions around here!
Hmmm... how would that M11 run when it would start acting up? Would it act like it was misfiring or just overall loss of power? Having an issue with one of my trucks with the same engine, but can't pull the codes off of it without having a tech come out and plug in. Had injectors changed and it seemed to help a lot but it still randomly has issues.
@HowFarmsWork2 жыл бұрын
It derated the motor. The only time it would misfire is when the check engine light wasn’t on and it wasn’t derating

The error code just tells you that the sensor value into the engine computer is not within the programmed limits, it doesn't tell you why it isn't within limits. The sensor is the easiest thing to replace. I've always thought it should be mounted in the cab because of the heat in the engine compartment.

Ryan the reason cold air gives a better performance is because of the fact that cold air is more oxygen rich. its also why people have difficulty breathing on really hot days.
