Hey Oliver, your videos are great. Really enlightening and well prepared. I am planning to apply to Aalto and have a couple of questions that I cannot find the answer to through the website, since you are a student already you might know the answers for me: 1) Will 2021-2022 have online lectures available? 2) Exchange programs look awesome, are we as Aalto students allowed to enroll in exchange programs more than once? Thanks in advance
@RoadtoFinnish4 жыл бұрын
Hey Christos and thanks for the positive feedback and the great questions! I dont actually have any lectures left (currently finishing my thesis) so im not 100% certain of how they are organised in 2021 BUT based on what i have read and heard, Aalto will still be doing most courses online during Spring 2021. There might be some exceptions with small courses, but i would say its safe to assume that most lectures are going to be done online until the summer (depending on how the situation with covid develops). About the exchange programmes, my understanding is that you can do one exchange semester for your bachelor's degree and one for your master's. So in theory you could do two exchange programmes abroad if you do both your bachelor's and master's at Aalto. Hope these help. Btw, since you are interested in studying in Finland, i really recommend that you consider joining our Discord server. The idea of the server is to build a community of people interested in studying and working in Finland. On the server i post updates about new videos and upcoming live streams and people help each other out with study and work related questions. Hello Oliver, should I upload my reference letter from professors even the program doesn't mention to have one? Your videos are so helpful, thank you for your effort!
@RoadtoFinnish4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sharon and thanks for the question! This is a tough one because some schools have explicit instructions on their application webpages that you should not include any extra attachments than those that are required. However, if the application allows you to upload additional attachments, i dont see how that could hurt you. So please refer once more to the university application website so that you can make an informed decision about this. I cant say 100% sure yes or no.

Hi Oliver, I noticed the studyinfo website says I need to request transcripts sent directly from my US University to Finland admission office. So i’m a bit confused about whether I need to upload my transcript again on Studyinfo website during the application. Is there any instructions for that?

Hi Oliver under the Degree section, there is a question "Official name of the Institute in Latin letter" And "Name of the Institute in English". What is the difference in both?
@RoadtoFinnish4 жыл бұрын
A great question! My understanding is that latin letters simply means latin alphabet (aka not in Japanese or in Chinese letters). On the other hand, the "Name of the institute in English" refers to the fact that some schools have been named in the local language. E.g. the "Hanken School of Economics" which resides in Helsinki is originally named in Swedish with the official name "Hanken Svenska handelshögskolan". So in the form you simply have to have the name in English so that its easier for the administrators.

How is the COVID situation in Finland and how are study and life affected?
@RoadtoFinnish4 жыл бұрын
The situation is chaging every single day so this comment is going to be outdated in a week after writing it. However, the current situation is that most schools are still going to be doing lectures online at least for Spring 2021. Hopefully we are able to get back to contact teaching in the fall but anything can happen in between so cant say for sure. All student activities are cancelled for the time being so there are no parties etc.. This means that student life is mostly just studying for now, but i would assume this is the same all around the world. In terms of our day-to-day life, its not that bad. Stores are open as normal and people do wear masks. There are some restrictions on services like restaurants but those should not make such a huge impact on your life. So i would say that the current situation is really good considering how bad it is in so many other, even European countries.
@Anik-eh1bk3 жыл бұрын
Please sir reply me. Im from Bangladesh. I saw that my certificates need to be verified by foreign ministry. My question when im uploading is it necessary to upload those attested copies? Or Just normal/original non-attested copies are enough to upload. Im asking for Aalto University sir.

Whats happening is l applied to Metropolia UAS on the Autumn joint application and they only offer entrance examinations in Finland of which its almost next to impossible to get those funds of just traveling to Finland for only examinations then come back, then go back again in January for my studies.

Hey Rishi and thanks for the great question! I recorder my screen a bit too high so you dont see it that well, but if you go to 12:36 you can actually see that there is a second identical button for the programme specific documents for that second programme :).

@@RoadtoFinnish Oh yeah, thanks! And more thing, is it much competitive to get an admit in general?
@RoadtoFinnish4 жыл бұрын
No problem. The question about the competitiveness of the admission is impossible for me to answer. I simply dont have enough information to give you a concrete numerical answer to this question. Surely i could say its hard but then again, this would depend on the school, the programme and your personal background. So its impossible to give a good assessment.

The application requirements depend on each university and their individual degree programmes. There are no universal application criteria that would apply to all programmes. So cant say for sure. What you should do is to look up interesting university programmes and check out their application criteria individually 👍
