Roadtrip: Historical Latvia and beautiful nature

The road trip through Latvia continues! This time we'll go around historical Latvia and enjoy the beautiful nature it has to offer.
We started our day with an eye-opening history at Araisi archeological park. We saw houses since the stone age through to iron age and saw amazing lake village by Latgalls.
Our journey continued in Cesis and Rezekne where we saw castles and had some lunch. Supposedly best kebab in Latvia.
Only a few kilometers away from our accommodation Stikāni is a nice route of duckboards around swamp lake. There we started our beautiful day with some nice walk in nature!
There is never enough sports, so we continued to Raznas national park and climbed on top of a great hill for Volkenberg stone castle. Old castle ruins are great and the view made it really worth the effort!
We've had an amazing time every step of the way!

I've always wanted to visit rezekne because my family is from there. I understand why my grandfather built a house next to a lake after coming to America. Reminds him of his home.
