Thanks for the video, I am driving 2023 BRZ in the exact same colour as your GR86. A neat trick to oil change is to drain the oil first, then do the refill with a cheaper oil. Bring the engine to temp with a short drive. Drain the oil and keep it for the next flush. Now, change the oil filter and pour in the intended engine oil as you normally would. Does take some extra work but definitely worth it for longevity.

I can appreciate the attention to detail in using that flush method 🤙

I'll be doing my first oil change soon at 1000miles with 5w-30, I'm not a fan of 20w oil in cars. Good info and thanks for the video.😀

Hey I appreciate it -- any mod plans for the car??

love the content my guy there isn't a lot of channels doing stuff with the newer brz and its nice to see stuff with my car in it and get advice from other brz owners

@@misterdarkcloud2384 thanks darkcloud -- I appreciate it 🤙. How long have you had your BRZ? Done anything to it?
@misterdarkcloud2384Ай бұрын
@KonkrRoads it's been about 6 months just regular maintenance so far.

Nice and thorough how-to video. We got a 3-year maintenance plan for our GR86, but we'll be doing this all ourselves when that is over -- and I'll have to rewatch this ;) Still have to keep an eye on the dealer, as they way overfilled one time...

Hey Owen thanks for having a look at the video -- good call on keeping your eyes out during dealer services...you never know when the mechanic is having a super bad day 😎🤙

Thank you for making all these videos. After discovering your videos I traded in my car (200 series LC) for your car (limited magnetite gray BRZ). I really believe car is unique, having test driven SS1LE, Mustang GT/GT350, 997 911, M4, etc. As it’s my first manual, it’s been a bit of a learning curve but 600 miles in the 2 weeks I’ve owned it has adjusted me. Gonna love how easy this oil change is at 1000 miles. The LC had ~20 bolts holding in the skid plates protecting the oil filter. This is a piece of cake compared to it. Looking forward to seeing more maintenance videos and if you have any break-in tips from your experience, other than what’s in the manual, would appreciate your insight. Cheers 🤙

Congrats on the new BRZ, and welcome to the world of manual driving! Glad I could be of help in your car journey -- I'm legitimately flattered 🤙. How does it feel going from the 200 LC to the BRZ?
@bolobudАй бұрын
@ it’s night and day really. BRZ can carve corners at 25 mph, and the same corners in the 200 would make you feel like you’re about to fall off a boat. Like driving a scalpel vs a land yacht. I do miss the engine noise of the 5.7 but nothing an exhaust won’t help with one day. I’ll be on the lookout for exhaust videos from you for sure

Here's two videos I made reviewing my HKS Legamax Premium Axleback (LPA): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWXbon2IasR4f9Usi=iFX5IhutUmgEw7ee kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJbanqCnZrqYe9Usi=1T7C2YcjHe0XgLRs This is a calm, smooth, and regal note for the car. If you want something to sound a bit throatier like your old V8, the Borla S Type (1st gen) seems to be a go-to 🤙

@ Thank you! I saw your HKS video. that’s the way to go in my opinion.

If you loosen the oil filter while the drain plug is out I believe more oil with drain out

I've never tried this is all the years doing my own oil changes -- I'll give it a go next time for sure. Thanks! 🤙
@hubi143Ай бұрын
is youe drive way flat ? i think it can also affect the oil level when it slightly angle
@KonkrRoadsАй бұрын
Top part is flat then it slopes downwards a bit. You're 100% right, the slope can skew the oil reading for sure 🤙
@hubi143Ай бұрын
yeah thats my problem too idont know if my level is full or low becausw of the slope. any tips on what to do?
@KonkrRoadsАй бұрын
@ best thing to do is double check your oil on the flattest surface you find. I'll validate my readings when I leave work -- the parking lot there is ultra flat. Shopping malls, restaurants , etc -- any lot that's even and convenient for you where you're parked long enough so the oil is all in the pan 🤙

If Subaru told you to wash your car once a year, is that what you would do?
@KonkrRoadsАй бұрын
Negative, but I also don't have an issue meeting or exceeding Subaru's oil change frequency. 🤙
