It’s important to hand start threads before using a power ratchet because every time you don’t a little bit of starting thread is chipped/ground off and drawn in the hole. Where I work there have been tests done on this. one hole used hand start then ratchet, the other hole air ratchet. After twelve times torqued and removed inspection down hole with bore scope and threads damaged all the way down.
