Note : I already was a musician when I started the piano, I have been playing guitar since the age of 8 and electronic music since the age of 15. For those who discover me with this video, my progress can seem very fast but they are logical in regards of my journey. I spent thousands of hours composing music, listening to it, and I already had a sense of rhythm and harmony because of it. The piano is very visual, so progress quickly arrived, especially since I spent a lot of time there (it was my number 1 priority during this year !) I invite people who discover me with this video to go see what I have been doing for several years on my youtube channel and my soundcloud, to better understand my journey. :)

Unless you are a genius, it's gonna be hard to reach this level in a year, especially if you are self-taught and have never studied other instruments. From this we can learn that studying an instrument gives huge benefits also when it comes to approach a new one, so set your goal, take your time and start this awesome journey. I reached that level with piano as first instrument learned in 2-3 years, so don't expect that level if it's you don't play another instrument! Also we don't know how many times he takes to record each one, it's different if it's the 1st try or the 20th. So, be happy playing, thats the way to learn!
@collinsmcrae Жыл бұрын
Playing another instrument doesn’t give you that big a leg up. I don’t know why so many commenters think that. You play the piano totally differently. It requires completely different muscle memory, and skills than, say, a guitar, and vice versa. This guys likely just full of shit. Either that or he’s a super genius and locked himself in a hyperbolic time chamber and did nothing but practice hardcore for 16 hours a day.

That’s very interesting phenomena, when you have piano lessons/courses with different teachers, you have less and less motivation to play. However, when you study by yourself, you also lose motivation to play because it consumes your time and you think “I ain’t spending my time in this”, but when you actually see the progress in your own studies, it gives you euphoria and makes you play more and more. Most of the people do not see their own progress and this is a phenomena. Here is my questions to you: Did you study by your own without a teacher? If yes, did you see or catch yourself progressing and growing in your piano skills?
@lcaros_4 жыл бұрын
I think taking classes is a bbetter approach to have proper technique and a solid starting point. Having some pieces chosen for you that arent only musical but also challanging the player with simple techniques is really good. I only changed piano teachers once, when i was 7 my piano teacher left for army duty and since then ive been practicing with my current teacher (im on year 13 now haha). About the motivation thing, i completely agree that you lose motivation when you feel likeyou can't progress beyond a point. You also feel really good when you play a piece after working on it for hours. After a point (for me it was year 10), sightreading and baseline techniques (theory related stuff) somehow clicked in my mind and i got really motivated to work on more challanging pieces. Its no the same for everyone though haha

I started with a teacher but that teacher rarely came to class and taught anything. it was only for four months. 2 years pass and I learnt Bohemian Rhapsody because i loved the song. I DIDN'T play for a whole year or just played Bohemian Rhapsody . Then, quarantine happened. I know know how to play a few pieces. The entertainer, moonlight sonata first mov, fur elise just before the fast part (i dont have the confidence rn), atla's osts, anime openings, pop song choruses with a few minutes practice. My sight reading has improved to a great extent. And ofc I taught these all by myself. I looked for techniques to everyone on youtube and they really helped. Now im learning for improvs. I have figured out 3 to 4 songs on my own with bass and melody everything. Even my ear is nice. I guess all we need is consistency , practice and Most IMPORTANTLY LOVE AND DEDICATION. I can't stay without practicing for a day now.

I'm buying a Yamaha U3 next week. I've never played piano before, can't play a musical instrument to save my life, can't read music or write it, I don't understand chords or notes either, but! I am determined to do this, I'm going to give it my all to master my pending purchase. I just need to start off on the right footing, have several lessons and hope the teacher is of a good standard, the rest will have to be via video tutorials and dedication. I'll be honest and say that I don't know if I'll get to where I want to be, I just hope I do.

For everyone that likes to study and play the piano: I'm Italian, that's why I know "Roberto Cacciapaglia" an Italian composer that has made a lot of beautiful pianos pieces --> "Wild Side", "Universal Dance", and other of "Three of Life album" - he's similar to Einaudi, another Italian composer, enjoy it, trust in me.
