I am from the USA, and I have seen Roasts of many American actors and musicians, and after seeing THIS video roasting Marko H of Nightwish. The Fins have more class when they roast somebody, many of the American roasts are really "trashy and disgusting". I mean they really go LOW and VULGAR. Not just the sex jokes, they go really SICKENING. BUT, oddly enough, when our President (who will be gone soon :) ) was "roasted, he made sure that he had "okayed" every joke before he would do it. That made for a "roast" where he had only had a small amount of jokes that were about him, MOST of the jokes had been about everybody else on stage. Marko has seemed to be fine with the jokes at his expense here. That shows that he is totally cool.

OF COURSE, the "Swedish singer" that was mentioned as being the best singer had been "Annette", and she had been before "Floor Jansen".

You're a pathetic creature. The fraud you want ... the fraud you get... You asked for what's coming so don't cry LOL

@@stubones You talkin to me? IF you ARE, I just HAVE to ask you, WTF? AND, IF me saying about Annette being the best singer pissed you off, you should know that I was pretty drunk when I made that post. I LOVE all of the singers (all 3 females and then Marko) that have been in Nightwish. So What "fraud" could you be speaking of? You seem like YOU have some real "issues" going on. I HOPE that you can deal with them and stop being so shitty to people who do NOT even freakin know you. I have LOVED hearing and seeing Marco or is it Marko? In Nightwish for many years, and he WILL be missed. Who COULD ever replace him? I hope he changes his mind after a short time away from the band.

Fairies was actually elves (haltiat) - so fantasy, like Disney too - not all the associations which fairies might bring to the mind :). Fairies would be keijut. Don't know how much metal audience cares about the difference,, one is Lord of te rings stuff, the other not really. But Tuomas might compose a song or 2 about the topic. His wife has lyrics about one them at least.

That iron Maiden line in Finnish meant 'Maybe I'm afraid, maybe I'm not'. It''s a joke how the local folk where Marco hails from expresses themselves in their dialect: it's hard to get a clear answer from them. They are like philosophers and jokers enjoying more circling around te topic than the answer itself. About like 'It's not the goal, it's the road there'. Besides they enjoy if their discussion partner is in the hurry to get the answer: they will slow down the advance even more :) Some of their jokes: A Savonian falls from the roof. Before he hits the ground he states to the viewers: 'It's not the fall, it's the quick stop'. A tourist in a hurry asks an old Savonian man: 'What's the time, is it 12 o'clock''. The Savonian answers: 'It may be, then again it may not be too. Ah, to know that.'

The original fairies were Aos Si of the Celtic mythology which are actually similar to the Scandinavian Elves in a number of ways. Tolkien took influences from both, essentially rolling back the changes that led to the small, winged fairies and other creatures.
@timomastosalo3 жыл бұрын
@@Ama-Elaini Yeah, didn't go the their mythologies. Just when Tolkien wrote his books, he didn't use the word fairy, except as part of the Elven names. So though he combined them, he didn't force his audience a new set of features for the fairies. So he just didn't used the word in his Ardalore. That was maybe his bow of respect to the Celts. So I didn't go the the specific Tolkien's world, but expressed the general view as it is. Finnish mythological character have this same difference between the generally understood fairies and elves, there are even some insects that use the keiju in their name. At least certain group of small hovering insects. The word elf was altered by Tolkien also compared to the Christmas vocabulary, Finnish uses there actually characters English calls gnomes - like little clones of Santa, or very similar looking as the 7 dwarves :) In old folklore this gnome (tonttu) and elf (haltia) meant same kind of spirits - tonttu is a Scandinavian loan word, and haltia (from haltija, a non-mythological profession word) is indigenous. Though also made from an older Germanic loan word, related to 'hold'. So the idea was a ¨holder (keeper)' of some place in the mythic world. Edit: my point was anyway, that they mixed the fairy and elf in translation, if the names are used for different fantasy creatures. Doesn't matter where the words originally come. There's some sort of room to maneuver for the author, which features he or she gives for the fantastic creatures - I've read books with very different type of trolls in them. But we can't change goblins to giants, or dragons to gnomes :)
