Regarding Hardman: Out east we don't have many big wilderness rivers. During the development of the nation people built around navigable water and the east coast is a lot more populated than our west so once a water body becomes larger, it becomes developed. Our tiny mountain streams with native brookies are incredible and show people something not everyone gets to enjoy.

I used to love their fishing in confined rock/cement walls /next to someone's backyard creek fishing vids they used to do but don't anymore for some reason , And they mixed it up with spin fishing to include everybody .
@keith63089 ай бұрын
@@rosariocannistraro3561 yeah I think mixing it up with spin fishing doesn't subtract from it being a fly fishing channel. It adds to it, to help people transition from spin fishing to fly fishing. Also I think it's natural progression to watch a channel (TV show) for a while and then grow out of it. I watch a lot less KZbin now because I'd rather not just consume content but possibly make it or be productive and do something that has an impact rather than just consuming stuff.

Hell yes, Rolf is the MAN. His storytelling is everything. As for some of the others you mentioned........ I hate to say it, and I've been wanting to say it, so I'll just vent about it here (since you opened the door). The more professional film gear you have and effort you put in--'epic' music, swoosh transitions, bokah shots, slow-mo macros, etc.--but you DON'T have an actual story, the more I hate it. I'd rather watch Luke on Outdoor Boys with his GoPro just running me through his little adventures than listen to your stitched together attempt at getting me to feel something about whatever it is you're doing. Thanks for this video, Ben. That was like a weight off the chest! (but also, keep making videos, all. Just learn and grow and don't settle as a creator).

The best line ever from ‘the new fly fisher’. They were catching smallmouth on popping bugs when the host said, “You must, and I can’t emphasize this enough, allow all the rings around your fly to settle before starting your retrieve.” It was straight out of Field and Stream magazine circa 1975. Even the guide was cringing hard. Cheesy but pleasantly nostalgic at the same time.😅
