So you’re applying to a SMM role, you have worked 3 roles in the past, SMM, VA, and Content Creation. You can highlight all 3 experiences in the folllowing order FOR A SMM APPLICATION: - SMM experience - Content Creation experience… Highlight how this role ties into SMM. What skills did you learn from content creation that you can apply to SMM. - VA… dis you sometimes manage your client’s social media in this role? Highlight it. Tie it into SMM. If possible self change the job role from VA to Social Media VA. There’s no hard and fast rule, but make it make sense. When you read your resume back to yourself… does it flow? Does it make sense? That’s all.

Concerning the applicant that cited his/her expertise in smm. A community manager is someone who manages and analyses your audience feedback, interact with the community to foster engagement, and develop strategies for engaging a community. IMO, a social media manager is over qualified for the role of a community manager, but that doesn't mean the person is not capable of performing the job. A smm also tracks audience engagement and develops strategies for building and managing a community. I believe the applicant wanted you to see their experience with building and engaging a community although not under the umbrella term of community manager. P.S: I'm not the applicant, I'm just pointing out what I've come to understand over time.

Actually I wanted someone with community manager experience not social media experience. A social media manager isn’t always the best community manager (this is my experience from hiring both). If you’re applying for a community manager role, highlight your community management experience or how you’ve done something similar (managed a school group). Posting on social media doesn’t mean you can manage a community successfully and vice versa
